Fairly good accomodations. There was some mold in the window sill behind the curtain and many cobwebs behind the furnishings.

I had to come here because every other place I tried was booked. I'm not saying this is the worst place I've been or I expect too much from a last minute booking but they have a lot to be desired. I luckily read that breakfast is on the 2nd floor here because no one told me. The desk clerk was nice but not happy with her job. She was willing to help with food recommendations but clearly unhappy to have to check me in. Maybe the reason was they overbooked the hotel so she didn't want another guest. Since they overbooked I was forced to take a smoking room when I said no smoking but it would have been nice to know that before I got to the room (look at the confirmation and warning me). The room smelled of smoke and has cigarette burns in things.

It was a clean room but very dated and could use a repairs. The beds squeaked a lot but the hallway or street noisy was more noticeable. Lastly, when changing in a hotel room in view of the car park make sure the curtains close.

I was changed almost $200 with tax so I would have expected more for my money. However, most of Mystic was booked so I was happy for the room and I'm sure it could have been worst. Stay here if you must but if another place cost more but has a room, really consider paying a little bit more.

The hotel charged only $151.80 total after discounts for AARP/AAA and a 3-day stay, terrific value for a resort area. My wife and I come here not only for the interesting, attractive town. Mystic is close to the beautiful Rhode Island shore, including the harbor and peninsula at Watch Hill, the Trustom Pond National Wildlife Area, and the 2-mile-long undeveloped East Beach.

The room was of ample size, dlean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was fine, with plenty of towels. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

The bargain rate bought a lot of forgiveness for some relatively minor defects. Housekeeping failed to empty coffeemaker grounds or replenish decaf. There weren't enough electric outlets to have the lamp, toaster and microwave on all at once.

My wife, who looks for yogurt and whole grains. found the breakfast buffet heavy on sugar and starch. I, who am less scrupulous about nutrition, pigged out on bagels, cereal, muffins, waffles, fruit salad, even though most of it came out of packages. We took refuge in an inner room away from a television.

I experienced none of the mold, dirt or odor that some reviewers complained about.

The room was a good size for a great value in a good location. The continental breakfast had plenty of options and was situated in a pleasant, clean, sunny room. But there was definitely a strong moldy smell when we walked into the room. We tried to open the window to air out the room, but the screen was cracked and letting in bugs. There was also an earwig in one of the beds.
