“Great Burgers and Great Beer”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

What an incredible place. I came here on a Saturday night with my friends and loved it so much I came back the next day with my significant other. If you want an amazing burger with some great beer, I highly suggest visiting the Engine Room.

“Great food, great beer in a great setting”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

Yesterday was our second time here and so far, we are pretty pleased with the results. Real tasty food in moderate portions. If you are looking for the typical 'American' sized burger, this place is not for you. Onion rings for a starter is a good choice as are the deviled eggs. The beer selection is fantastic and it seems that they have a great selection of bourbons as well.

“Super new restaurant option in Mystic”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

We had dinner last night in the recently opened Engine Room. They did a fabulous design job on the space. It is casual, warm and sophisticated. It feels like a city restaurant, not the typical shoreline eatery. For a restaurant that only opened three months ago, they really have their act together.
The menu was interesting and eclectic. We had delicious humus & pita and calamari for appetizers followed by a substantial and flavorful turkey burger. This is not the frozen patty type of burger place!
I substituted a salad for the fries & loved the salad dressing. It had a unique flavor. My husband had the fries and said they were very good. Engine Room is a farm to table establishment and that comes through loud and clear in the interesting flavors.
They have a large bar area with comfortable seating and a large variety of beer on tap as well as bourbon.
We ate in the restaurant section which overlooks the kitchen. Real foodies can sit watching the meal preparation. Surprisingly there is little noise from the packed bar area although it is right around the corner. Engine Room is a very neat place.

“First experience was good!”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Did not have a reservation and waited 20 minutes for a seat at the bar facing the kitchen. It was fun watching the staff preparing the various dishes. Though the menu is limited and fries were very salty, the variety in bourbons and beers more than made up for it! Server offered us a taste of popcorn, which was fantastic.
