I just had lunch at The Engine Room today (second lunch there since they opened). I love their Chicken Liver Pate, and also had the Avocado with Bacon, Tortilla Strips, and spicy chili sauce. Nice staff, good service. Readers should know, however, that the previous glowing review was submitted by the owner's father-in-law.

The Engine Room provides an authentic New England setting for the best burgers ever -- plus beer on tap and a huge selection of Bourbon. The bar is a happening scene separated from the dining area by a wood and glass partition -- so you can see the action but do not get drowned out by it. And the 10 seat party table is only the best place in town for a fun event. Lastly, when the bill arrives there are no heart attacks although all the food is fresh, delicious farm to table fare..

When I saw that a new gourmet burger joint opened in Mystic I couldn't wait to try. Went on a Monday night for a friend's Bday and it was quite busy!

-Atmosphere is very nice!

-Took a long time for burgers to come out.

-For 13 bucks a burger they are lacking in size and flavor!!

-Roast beef sandwich is really good.

Overall not worth it for the price. Much better burger options around!

New restaurant, friends said it was great, they are impressed by difficulty in getting in. Three of us: one had chicken on biscuit and onion rings apps, one had roast beef on a bun with fries, and one had special - lentils with sausage and special grainy mustard. Very busy for a cold Thur nite. Chicken way overcooked, biscuit burnt, onion rings very greasy. Roast beef only half-eaten, unappetizingly bland and swimming in some weird gravy and fries so oversalted were inedible, lentils and sausage very good but tiny portion for $13 so I ate some of the greasy rings. Won't go back. Friendly service.

The bar scene here is lively and fun but the dining room is nicely insulated if you are looking for a quieter meal. Loved the wine list - the selections were unique and very reasonably priced. The fries are amazing and the burger selection is creative and delicious. Will definitely go back!
