“Cozy With Good Food”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Walked in without a reservation and were seated promptly. The waitress was helpful with suggestions and was knowledgeable about how the food was prepared and the ingredients. As there was a a vegan among us, she took a special order to the chef for her. The atmosphere was welcoming, family oriented and pub like. A nice evening!

“Nice little bistro spot...”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

The food is usually quite good and the bartender very friendly. Easy to meet locals at the bar.. the restaurant is small and quaint... easier to get into during off season hours.

“Anthony J's in Mystic - always a good experience.”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Whether you are after a spirited happy hour conversation or a romantic meal, you'll find it at this cozy bistro tucked away in Mystic. Don't let the small size of this place fool you, the food is big. Big portions and big flavors. For starters, be sure to try their veal meatballs, just as good as you'll ever taste. The salmon carpaccio is fresh and succulent, and served with all the accompaniments. The calamari, though a bit spicy for my tastes, was cooked to perfection. The wines are carefully chosen. The complimentary olives at the bar are a nice touch. The service always seems to be good even when crowded, which it can be at dinner time. As for entree's I'm partial to the delicious pasta's. And for dessert - the mud pie is a must have. Prices are reasonable. The place is not spacious, but the atmosphere makes up for it by being vibrant and upbeat. Great for dates. Leave the kids at home.

“quaint restaurant”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

A quaint Italian restaurant in a central location. The aroma of the food was the first thing I noticed as I entered the restaurant. The lighting was cozy and we were seated right away (not the busy season). The wait staff was very nice and attentive and did not rush us. The food was very good and plentiful. I would definitely stop here again on my next visit!

“Romantic and quaint with excellent food”
Reviewed November 30, 2012 via mobile

Wonderful place to go out on a date! Perfect ambiance, food presentation beautiful, desserts almost all prepared in house and to die for!! I had the chicken Marsala for dinner and for dessert chocolate lava cake with salted caramel gelato. I could just go for the dessert and coffee and be perfectly content.
