“Good pizza”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

Got a bacon pizza delivered to the hotel we were staying at for the weekend and we weren't sure what to expect since we are used to what we eat in our area, but WOW it was delicious and the bacon was actual slices cooked crisply, not minced up greasy bits. It was quite tasty and we will definitely get pizza from here again if we are in the area.

“Great food and happy hour at Pier 27”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

It's a typical comfortable neighborhood bar, but with excellent appetizers (half price during happy hour) and great drinks. The food comes from Angie's Restaurant next door and offers a nice selection of Italian and Greek offerings. Friendly bartenders (Danielle's our favorite ) can mix your special drink with a wide range of liquors not found at every corner bar. It's worth a stop if you're traveling near Mystic!

“Sentimental Favorite”
Reviewed May 25, 2010

I have always had a soft-spot for Angie’s. In 1991 I was at an inn in Mystic when Hurricane Bob struck. My room was half underwater, there was no power and the inn was giving away food, but you had to eat by emergency lighting. I thought there must be somewhere to get a hot meal and just happened upon Angie’s, which seemed to be the only place in the area that had power. Since the storm was still on not many people were out but the place was quite lively with locals and tourists alike making the best of it. I have been back many times and the food has always been good and the staff friendly and helpful. One side is a family dining room the other is a bar. Recommended especially for families. It is not quaint, but it is basic, dependable food at a reasonable price.

“The best Chicken Caesar salad around and I've had many”
Reviewed April 22, 2009

If you want the best Caesar salad in town, Angies has it. We also like the meatball onion pizza. All of my 6 siblings and their families eat there and love it as well.

“Hot chewing gum with oil.”
Reviewed March 30, 2009

I've been going to Angies for years, even when the former owner had it. The garlic dressing on the salads is great, and the salads are fresh. The fried foods are well done, the oil hot so the fries or fish isn't greasy. Being Greek, they also serve lemon chicken soup, which is a nice change. The problem lies with the pizza. Recently, they have made them smaller and increased the price. Unfortunately, they still load it up with oil. It's a shame because the crust is actually tasty. No matter how many times you ask for "light on the cheese" it always comes laden with heavy cheese and oil. Hot chewing gum with oil anyone? The waitresses here are always nice, and service quick. The rice pudding for desert is home made and worth a taste. Grinders here are ok, though cheap with the veggies and the cheese, though heavy on the pizza, is see through on the grinders. The one hidden secret here is that they will put cabbage on the grinder if you ask. It is not listed on the menu. I've eaten here for years out of laziness, and lack of options for take out in Mystic. If you've ever had real Italian pizza..hit the accelerator for this one.
