Visited here on our tour of the states and the best food by far. I had the shrimps and chicken combo. The chicken was succulent and marinated in chilli to give it a zing and the shrimps (6) were perfect and accompanied by coconut rice. Everything complimented each other and was only $18. My wife had the Seafood ambrosia which was a little like seafood pie with scallops, and seafood aplenty and topped with stuffing and mashed potato, accompanied by steamed vegetables $17.50. To accompany we had the grey goose honeys beer from Chicago at $5.75 a bottle. The tastes were divine and credit must go to the chef, although the delightful garden setting beside the river helps a lot.

Our only meal in Mystic was in this restaurant.
We were seated within 20 mins on a busy Sunday evening, though I was happy to wait longer looking out over the river, from the terrace bar.
The food was excellent, served promptly and attentively. The eating area is quite spartan looking, done like a cabin of a sailing ship with rough floorboards and round nail-head studs, so dont go bare-foot. The view across the river are lovely too.
An excellent start to our holiday.

There is nothing special here except for the unexplained long lines. Crab cakes has been known to be excellent and maybe the rest of the simply grilled fish, but bouillabase, seafood ambrosia, and lobster bisque simply should not be on the menu. Dessert is marginal. Establishment does not even have an expresso machine. If you came here to be in the right crowd, cross the street to Bravo Bravo.

Dear Traveler,

Thank you for reviewing S&P Oyster Company. On behalf of our entire team, including both Owners and Chef Edgar Cobena, we are sorry for not meeting your expectations. It is certainly most unfortunate to have left you with such displeasure and an experience that we are regretful for.

We take our reviews seriously and address specific areas of opportunity as soon as we hear of it. The items you addressed in your review are some of our highest selling items that have been publicly recognized through awards and customer praise. Again, I am sorry that you did not enjoy them.

We have made a methodical choice to not carry espresso, cappuccino, or ice cream. In historic Downtown Mystic, there are a few locally and family owned shops that carry these products and services that we are proud to support. We are a small town and pride on our neighborly encouragement to one another and entice our guests to try them out. We agree; we think Bravo Bravo is a tasty choice for those opting to dine in Downtown Mystic.

Thank you again for your time and words; we wish you safe travels.

We ate our dinner outside, which is right by the river. It was nice to watch the boats float by as we enjoyed our meal. The whole experience was great!

We tried to go eat twice at the restaurant part and wasnt find of the system of seating, seemed a bit off. Wandered upstairs to the bar and found our own little oasis. The staff was fun and great and we were able to order food at the bar and have a great time.
