We stopped at the visitor's center & ran down the list of available hotels & their prices & settled on the the Taber for $169, which is about 4 minutes out of town on highway 1. It was last minute, so I don't know if this was the usual price. It was well worth it. It had an indoor pool, clean room (we had 2 full size beds) w/ tv & lots of towels, breakfast & a friendly, helpful staff. You can have breakfast in your room or eat in the breakfast room. For breakfast they had everything you can think of except eggs & breakfast meats. Also, this was a Friday night & it was not noisy.

While visiting Mystic with friends 2 weeks ago, and having failed to make a reservation in advance, we were so lucky to have been given directions to this charming Inne. The price was right, the location only a $4.00 cab ride, but walkable if you like. The room had everything we needed for a nights stay, and was obviously carefully decorated to make you feel at home. The owners and the girl who worked the office at night were so pleasant, they made us feel very welcome. Also enjoyed there recommendation to stop at John's in town, the local Irish watering hole. We will definately come back next year, would love to join them for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Okay place, but not exactly a romantic retreat. Looked like it had a full overhaul about twenty years ago with nothing but minimum maintenance since, so it was all a bit worn and dated. There was a hole in one towel, and the rest were frayed. Breakfast was underwhelming, consisting of underripe fruit, cheap baked goods, and tiny diet yogurts. But it was perfectly comfortable with perfectly nice staff. The two-person jacuzzi tub was nice, though located in a not-luxurious bathroom. The location is too far out of town to walk, especially since there was heavy traffic and no sidewalks most of the way. So it cost more than it should have.

I stayed in the Waterford suite. It had everything except a kitchen stove!
We stayed for the weekend and honestly , I wish we had a longer stay! Margaret and her staff were so accomodating and friendly! The suite has a fireplace, 2 person Jacuzzi , 3 bathrooms (great for extended family) small deck downstairs and upstairs off the master bedroom. IMMACULATE! Let me repeat. IMMACULATE! Plenty of room to spread out.. Restaurants withing walking distance.A Light continental breakfast in morning, cold cereal. bagels, english muffins, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, ect.. Less than 20 minutes drive to casinos.. 5 minute drive to Mystic Aquarium and Village!

Stayed at the Taber Inn for the weekend with my wife in the East
Wing. The room was very large and had a beautiful fireplace and whirlpool. Never seen a whirpool so clean, they must run bleach through everyday. The contintental breakfast was plentiful
consisting of cereal, yogurts, oatmeal, breads, bagels with cream cheese, muffins, coffee cake, oj,coffee teas ,milk, fresh fruit,
brekfast bars. The pool was the nicest indoor pool we ever swam in. The staff was very nice and helpful. Most important the hotel was very clean and safe. We really enjoyed being intown and walking to the different shops and restaurants.

It was decent. That's about it. The room was clean but had a sewage odor. We were in the East Wing which is in the same building as the pool. The smell of chlorine hit you in the face every time you entered the hallway. There should not be rooms located in the same building as the pool.

The room was just like you would find at a Holiday Inn or Hampton inn. Breakfast consisted of toast, muffins, juice, coffee and jarred fruit salad. It was nice that they provide that but it is not comparable to the B&B's I've been to. It is not worth the money. It should not be $250 a night.

It's also at least 3/4 of a mile from downtown. Yes, walking distance but would not consider it "in town."

Staff was very helpful and friendly.
