We (10 of us in 4 rooms) stayed at The Howard Johnson in Mystic, Connecticut for 3 days and were very happy with the accomodations. The rooms were clean and comfortable & quiet (which surprised me when I-95 was so close by). The staff were very helpful & friendly & offered tips on attractions & restaurants that were worth our time & money- couldn't be happier- We are already planning another stay as soon as we can!
Thank you for the great review from your recent stay. We are all very happy that your group had a good time. We enjoy helping our guests with ideas of what to do and where to eat.
We look forward to seeing you again for your next reunion. Please don't hesitate to call us so we can make your next a great stay.
Hotel room smelt like cigarette smoke upon arrival, even though it was a non-smoking room. The room was dingy and very outdated. The hotel definitely need some updating. There was no manager that we could speak with upon arrival. The cleaning lady came up and sprayed our room which helped a little bit but it's still smelt like cigarettes. The hotel pillows were the size of small square toss pillows, awful. There was no elevator. For the price we pay for peak season to stay there it was not worth it. We did speak with the supervisor the next morning she was very nice and did take 20% off of our bill although still not worth it. Would never stay at the hotel again.
thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay with us. I do apologize the room was not to your liking. We work hard to show our guests a clean and comfortable room. we did not do this for your. we are in the process of updating our hotel, so I hope you will give us another chance to show you we can better.
The hotel needs a bit of updating. The staff was very nice and helpful, but the hotel itself needs a bit of work. The room was clean, but just seems to need a bit of updating. There was a humidifier in our room, which I was glad for, but the reason for it? The room was a bit smelly if the humidifier was not turned on. A few hours into the night it turned off and had something on it that said "water full"; no idea where to find the water or if it needed to be refilled it or anything, so we left it. The tv had plenty of channels, but with the AC and humidifier on, I felt like we needed to put it so loud -- I'd hate to think I was disturbing other guests because the tv was so loud. We didn't spend any time in the room, other than a few hours for sleeping, so in that regard, the hotel served its purpose, but I guess i just enjoy a room that is a bit more updated and newer looking.
Hello and thank you for letting us know about your recent stay with us.we are working on updating rooms at this time and hope you will stay with us again in the future
We wanted to use our Wyndham rewards points for a one-night stay in Mystic as an in between stop before heading up to Cape Ann Massachusetts.
We've had many wonderful experiences staying at the excellent HoJo in Newport, RI, so we figured we'd give this HoJo a try.
Overall it was OK, nothing really bad to point to. At check in the young lady I dealt with was a bit scattered and not really friendly, though not rude. The general premises is a bit worn, but not shabby. Our room, a queen double, was very spacious and comfortable. They did not clean it well though.
We planned to use the pool the morning of our check out, our only small window of time when we could do that. Unfortunately, they decided to keep the pool closed past the posted open time of 9 a.m., because supposedly they wanted to make some needed repairs. We were very disappointed, particularly since such work is generally done during times when the pool is closed and because the staff had been around all early morning and could have done the work earlier.
The hotel manager seemed friendly when we met upon check out.
Despite the noted challenges above, we would stay there again for a short visit to Mystic.
Thank you for staying with us. I do apoligize about the pool opening late, it was an unplanned repair but was necessary for the safety of our guests. we are in the process of doing many updates and hope you will give us another try the next time you are in Mystic.
