Traveling back north after spending six weeks in the south, our mouths were watering for some good wood - fired pizza. That's exactly what we found at Mango's. The Margarita Pizza was just what we were looking for...great crust with delicious mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. There were plenty of other choices available on the menu, but that was just what we wanted. We added a house salad to our order, and the greens and other veggies in it were fresh and crisp, and the balsamic dressing was very tasty. The service was prompt, pleasant and courteous. There is no doubt that Mango's will be a regular stop for us on future road trips home from the southern states.

We preferred this spot to the other, somewhat famous, spot in town. Pizza and service are excellent. My son loved the place.

We had just checked into our hotel, across the street, and needed a light dinner before going to a dessert party later that evening. The hotel had a tourist map with local featured businesses. When we saw there was a pizza place right across the street, we knew we'd made our choice.

Mango's Wood-Fired Pizza Co. is in the Mystic Village Shops, a tourist magnet for the town of Mystic. It's outside of the downtown area, but right off I 95. There are shops and restaurants of all kind, but as this was Mystic, we had to have pizza.

The dining room is nothing very exciting, but the staff was friendly and we were happy just inhaling the delicious aroma of pizza baking in a brick oven.

We ordered the large vegetarian pizza and Cindy's salad. The menu featured appetizers from Wings to Garlic Cheese Bread, a number of salads, sandwiches and specialty pizzas or concoct your own by the ingredient. There were two sizes available. They also serve wine and beer.

Our salad came quickly and was more than generous for the two of us. It had green leaf lettuce, glazed walnuts, craisins, gorgonzola and tomato and came with balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. The tomatoes were definitely winter tomatoes, but the rest of the salad was delicious. There was plenty of cheese, walnuts and craisins to make it interesting.

Our pizza arrived bubbling hot. The crust was chewy, rather than crisp, but that was fine. The hot, gooey cheese had onion, spinach, roasted peppers and mushrooms sprinkled over the top. It wasn't over loaded, nor was it skimpy. It was perfect. Between the huge salad, and the pizza, we were more than satisfied and had half a pizza to take with us for snacks the next day.

Mango's was just what we needed for a cold night.

I had never been to this restaurant but I feel I ate previously in the same location. The wait for lunch was crazy long but we did wait outside with the ducks. There was indoor and outdoor seating, we sat inside which had to be more comfortable in late June. All I remember of this meal was that we had just eaten pizza the night before but we got the Hawaiian pizza and it was so incredible that we just kept eating it until it was all gone. I'd definitely eat there again.
