The Charles W. Morgan went into the water. She's (?) a fabulous vessel! I'd never seen a launch before. The lowering itself took 20 minutes or so - I was expecting a splash and the vessel to be immediately in the water - not so.

How fortunate we were to be able to see The Morgan all finished and ready to go. We have been watching the progress since the beginning. LOVED it!

The Charles W. Morgan is the last wooden whaling ship afloat. It is currently under restoration (1st launch later this month), but you are welcome to climb aboard and tour the ship (caution: low head clearance in the living quarters). Allow 30 minutes for your visit.

Very nice boat. Impressive what they've done to restore it. You actually get to walk inside a wooden whaling ship - how many whalers slept here? Really gives you a sense of time, place,.....history!

I have been following the news of the Charles W. Morgan for some time and I appreciate that Mystic Seaport has left the exhibit open for people to be able to follow the progress of it's restoration. Kudos to the staff and volunteers at Mystic for keeping the Seaport enjoyable for the whole family and worth the $$ to visit. Highly recommend!
