Right in town, walk to all the shops. Staff is very, very friendly and helpful. Plenty of off street parking available.

Definitely a little dated but that's part of the experience of this older property. The toilet was a bit tough to flush and the shower was kind of small, at least in the Queen we stayed in. In my opinion worth the trade for the excellent location.

The free breakfast is so-so, needs a waffle maker.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: there's no elevator in the main house so if you don't like walking stairs stay on the first...

Thank you for taking a moment to post a review of the Inn. It’s always lovely to hear that our staff was friendly and helpful. We do hold ourselves to a high standard in service.
In regards to the Main Inn guestrooms, the bathrooms are all unique in size and style. Please know for the future, our front desk is open 24 hours a day should you need any maintenance assistance with your guest room. We are more than happy to assist.
We hope you have the opportunity to visit us again in the future. If available, request our newly renovated “Stonington House”. I’m sure you will be very pleased. Thank you again, Nicole

We stayed in a "cosy queen", despite it was the cheapest room, it was quite large and comfortable. The building is old and characteristic, do not expect modern furniture or services, but a cosy lobby is available and the breakfast is good. Not cheap overall, but it is worth the rate, considering the location.

First time to Mystic and the Whaler’s Inn and we would definitely recommend it and stay again when we are in the area. Great location with a quick walk over the bridge to many of the area shops and restaurants (do try their restaurant Bravo Bravo – see separate review) and a short drive to the Seaport museum, aquarium and Stonington attractions. We stayed in the recently renovated Stonington House, new carpeting and newly remodeled bathroom with large pedestal sink and oversized shower. The room was very clean and we had a nice shared balcony so you can get some night air. The room didn’t come with a mini fridge but if you ask the front desk they will bring one to your room. The only complaint is the rooms are not very sound proof and you can hear your neighbors talking, laughing, the TV, etc.

The desk staff was nice but not overly friendly. We enjoyed a nice complimentary continental breakfast each morning with plenty of selection from waffles and breakfast sandwiches to cereal and fruit. Overall a keeper in our books of places to go and good visit!

Room Tip: If you stay at the Stonington House ask for a room on the second floor so you don't hear people...

This was our first stay at The Whaler's Inn, but it won't be our last.

The staff was friendly and courteous from check in thru check out.

We stayed in the main building, room 38. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable! I was actually surprised by the roominess in such an old building. The building is very old, and does have some quirks that go along with that, but they simply add historical character and charm.

It was lovely to be able to walk to restaurants and downtown without moving our car and searching for parking. Although we did not visit the seaport this year, you could easily walk there from The Whaler's Inn, also..

Room Tip: There are no elevators in this historic inn, so choose your room accordingly. Our room was on the t...

My husband and I were looking for a hotel for a long weekend away. We wanted somewhere where we could walk easily to shops, restaurants, etc. and the Whaler's Inn was a great choice. We stayed in the newly renovated building. The room was clean and updated, yet had a very New England feel. The staff were very friendly. The only downfall was that the room opened directly to the outdoors, and some other people decided to stay up late nearby our room one night, which kept us up a bit, but compared to the noise levels we are used to in Manhattan it was not bad at all. We would definitely stay here again.

The Whaler Inn is great and I have stayed here a number of times though mostly off-season during the winter (we live in NYC but have a boat in Mystic). Location can't be beat as you are right downtown. The rooms are all different, depending on the building and floor so it's definitely worth going through them on the website to see what you are reserving. Breakfast is fairly simple but for the size of the hotel, no complaints.

Probably my only concern with the hotel is that weekends are generally two night minimum stay so it's not something you can do for a single night (though I have heard of people calling and getting a room for one night right before a weekend). That's to be expected during the summer as they usually fill up, but it doesn't make sense during off-season.

Overall, one of the best places to stay in Mystic!

Room Tip: Just use their website - there are pictures and descriptions of each room.

My biz partner and I were on midweek travel. We arrived and parked easily enough out back and proceeded to check in. Reception even arranged to open breakfast at 6:45a to accommodate us which was excellent. Noank House room was clean, but tired by today's standards. Will stay in Hoxie House next time.
