We stay here at least once a year. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The staff is nice and go above and beyond to make your stay great. The continental breakfast is amazing. They are continuously adding more and more variety. The only thing I wish is they had balconies to be able to enjoy the view of the mystic river and the bridge. Our stay is always relaxing.

Thank you very much for such wonderful comments. We always appreciate hearing from our "regulars". Knowing that you return every year reassures us that we continue to provide the level of service we work so hard to achieve. Thank you again and I will be sure to pass this message on to the staff as well.

We stayed for two nights in August 2013 in the "Hoxie House". Absolutely everything was to our liking: staff, location, cleanliness, continental breakfast, river view, friendliness. We especially liked the coffee in the lobby and the unconditional "luggage-hold" for train travelers. The only suggestion is to put a snack vending machine next to the drinks vending machine, as sometimes at night, guests want a snack. There is a CVS a few blocks away, so one could go there, but one on-site would be great. If ever in Mystic again, we'll stay here. We'll also tell our friends about it. Thank you!

Room Tip: Hoxie House

Thank you for taking the time to review the Inn. It is always such a pleasure to hear that our staff exceeds expectations and that our complimentary services and amenities are enjoyed. We have taken your “snack” suggestion into consideration and have added additional evening “snacks” for our guests. Thank you again and we do hope you can visit us in the future.

Really cute place and beautiful room. The location is great too, even though it is a little off the water. Our room had a tiny view of the drawbridge, so that was nice.

The room was really comfortable and I loved the tub, even though it is a little difficult to get in and out of because of the huge surround. It could use a step.

The only negatives were the stairs and the small breakfast area. We had to lug luggage up three flights of stairs which wasn't fun, but we survived. lol The breakfast area was small and we had to wait just a bit for a table to clear. Still, we'd stay there again if we could.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Whaler's Inn. From the front desk, to the "back of the house', you instantly feel at home. The rooms are nice, cheerful and clean.
They have a Hospitality Room with coffee and tea 24 hours and in the mornings, a beautiful breakfast. Wonderful.
The property is well kept. Walking distance to restaurants, some of the nicest shops and the water. So much fun.
Every one here is top notch, friendly, just wonderful.

We were in Mystic for one night. We wanted a hotel within walking distance to the harbor. Whalers Inn is a perfect location to shops and restaurants. Rooms are very nice, staff is helpful, continental breakfast is served in a very nice breakfast room. Make sure to ask for your AAA discount when reserving the room.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 50 no view of draw bridge but still nice

The clanging sound of the oldest, and first drawbridge in the country begins, giving notice it is going up. Then a loud horn sounds signifying to the boats their passage. I watch from my room as the boats pass through. Enjoy the beautiful sounds of the church bells welcoming all. We've stayed at many of the hotels in Mystic, and this is definitely a favorite! We are presently in The Hoxie House. The room is large, fireplace, huge jetted tub, windows which open, comfy king bed, and a great view of the drawbridge, river, town and hillside. Keep in mind, that comes with the sounds from all of the above, I found it all part of the charm. There is a continental breakfast. Everything in town is a short walk, no need for a car. Fun shopping, great restaurants, wonderful music in the evenings, sailboat rides, and so much more! Perfect for both couples or families. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We are enjoying our stay so much, we just extended our stay for the week. We are moving to yet another of their 3 buildings to experience one of the largest rooms they have, The Morgan Suite. Review to follow.

Room Tip: There are 3 different building, all with different styles of decor and amenities. The newest is the...

We booked to stay here as a family of 7 sharing 2 rooms in stoning ton lodge. However after 24 hours of overpriced dark gloomy rooms which smelt musty and and a packet driven breakfast we checked out and moved into the Hyatt for less money and great family facilities.

I apologize that you found your stay at the Inn to be disappointing. As you can see we do typically receive very favorable reviews. There is, on occasion, a time when the Inn is not the perfect fit for particular guests needs. Please know, if ever you experience a less than favorable room or service we would do whatever is in our means to make your accommodations more comfortable. We are happy to hear that there was a hotel in the area that was able to accommodate your family.
