If you are in the area, Mystic Aquarium is a must-see. It is one of the few places in the world where you can view and interact with Beluga Whales. These are very smart animals that will come up to the glass in their tank to greet you in a spacious, modern, comfortable outdoor viewing area. Search the internet for Mystic Beluga Mariachi to see some amazing video of one of the Mystic Belugas 'dancing' to live music. For an extra fee, you can purchase an encounter with the whales from a private viewing area, or actually in the water. The marine biologists who work there are friendly, dedicated scientists with a passion for sharing their knowledge of sea life with guests. In addition to the whales, similar encounters are available with penguins, and there are hundreds of other marine animals and fish to visit as well as Sea Lion shows to see. There is a reasonably priced cafe within the Aquarium, but better food can be found across the street at 5 Guys or a few other local restaurants (remember to get your hand stamped for re-entry). While many of the exhibits are inside, at least half are outside or require you to walk outside to get from one to another. Dress for weather.
