“What a great place”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

My oldest son and I visited here on a Sunday in September. We just happened to be here on the same day as an antique car show. The entire visit was just awesome. The whaling ships were a great history lesson and we even got to put our names on a wooden peg that would be used in the restoration of a ship. We filled our cameras with pictures of everything, including the antique autos. This was a memory that will last forever. The admission price was very reasonable and if you were going to visit the aquarium, it was even better. I would recommend these attractions to anyone who is visiting this area.

Mystic Seaport is fun to visit, but doesn't have much to offer to hold your attention for more than a few hours. The most interesting exhibit is a whaling ship, in process of restoration. It does require a lot of walking and climbing steep, narrow stairs, which is important to keep in mind if you're bring very young children. The rest of the place seemed... somewhat lackluster and boring, for the price of admission. Don't expect to make a whole day of it.

“One of My Favorites!”

I first visited Mysitc Seaport when I was in college and have re-visited it several times and even dragged my poor parents along once. You can make it a half-day trip, a one-day trip, or even a two-day trip. Kids will love it!
