“Inflexible and incomprehensible lack of basic customer service”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Called earlier with a large take out lunch order for six. One special request - that the General Tso's chicken be made with white meat as our friend did not enjoy the skin covered thigh meat (lots of skin and a little 'greasy') when he'd had it before - despite having enjoyed the sauce it was cooked in. Evidently this was too much to ask - I was told that they will not do it - except at dinner! Sorry, I won't go back to a place that won't make even the smallest effort to accommodate their customers.

Spent our $60 somewhere else and won't ever be calling again.

FYI - this is the first bad review I've ever written for TripAdvisor.

“Best Chinese food around”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

This is a very small family run restaurant. They raise the bar on Chinese food so high that it is hard to eat anywhere else. The fried rice, sesame chicken, and lo mein are all fantastic. Since there are only two people in the kitchen, it can take a while for the food, so allow plenty of time when ordering pick up.

“The absolute best Chinese in the area”
Reviewed April 4, 2012

This place is the real deal. The Lau's pride themselves on using fresh ingredients and NO Msg. Annie is a tea connoisseur and make sure to get her recommendation on a tea to go with your meal. My only criticisms are the Tv in the dining room and a long wait for food at times.

“OMG - The very best in Chinese cuisine”
Reviewed November 4, 2010

Jackson and Annie Lau and their two daughters present the absolute finest in Chinese restaurants. A very small place tucked away in an easy-to-miss Rochambeau Plaza next to a movie theater, this place has been established for more than 20 years but known only by gourmets.

Although they do offer and feature take-out, they have six or seven tables and do serve in the dining room for a limited time in the evenings. They also feature an entire page of tea menus.

Be prepared to be greeted by the warm Annie who will make conversation and share stories as if you are family. I enjoyed the Sesame Chicken and my wife had the Peking Pork, both were marvelous. It was preceded by a Spring Roll and Barbecue Ribs as appetizers although they well could have been the meal.

If for no other reason, it is worth a stop just for the tea service.

Each meal is prepared individually to your order so plan to have a relaxed meal experience here, no rushing or pre-prepared foods from the Lau family.

We certainly have added them to our extended family and plan to make several repeat visits to this beautifully decorated gourmet delight.
