“great breakfast!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

A small group of us are in a 'diners, drive ins, and dives' club and we try to go to the local restaurants that Guy Fieri features on his show....which is what lead us to O'Rourkes....i'm glad we gave it a try. We went during breakfast...which is think is what everyone does because there was a line to get in down the street. After waiting in line for almost an hr, we finally made it inside...WHICH IS SMALL and explained the wait time. The staff is friendly and the bread/muffin basket that they place on everyones table when they come in contained assorted breads and muffins that were delicious. Each of us were also very satisfied with our breakfasts...the omelettes were fluffy and filled to the max...the home fries were seasoned and not burnt like so many other diners....and their breakfast sausage was one of the best i've had. Our table left so full that we didnt eat again that day till the evening. Well worth the wait in line!

O'Rourke's, where the elite meet to eat fresh and local comfort food. The breakfasts and brunches are legendary, but no lines and great food are there after noon as well. Kudos to Brian an his team!

“What a cool experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

I was visiting Middletown Ct. for a wedding and stumbled across this Diner. My girlfriend and I had breakfast here and were pleasantly surprised with the great food. It was a long wait to get a table and the staff was slammed but the food came out timely and it was worth the wait. I would do it again.

“Comfortable, Fresh and tasty Diner food with some Flair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Three of us had a nice brunch. The Banana bread french toast did not disappoint - but be prepared for a sugar rush. The Irish Galway (poached eggs with smoked salmon over grilled brown bread) was tasty, but light on the smoked salmon. The Black Forest omelet was good.

Coffee was good, not great - next time I will wait for the French Press coffee.

Staff was friendly and efficient.

Worth a try for breakfast, brunch or lunch if you are in the area.

“O'Rourke's is my favorite breakfast place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

Brian is a genius with food. Somehow, he makes beets taste good. I will often order the fritatta special or the french toast special. There is always an interesting bread used for the french toast. I love the pork hash. Raspberry jam from O'rourke's is "to die for". We go often. Sometimes service is better than other times, but it is always friendly.
I love the diner atmosphere, but it might not be for everyone. The view overlooks the railway tunnel on one side and Main St on the other.
