I have a two year old grand daughter and thanks to another trip advisor reviewer who answered my plea for places to take our little ray of sunshine, we drove over to this fun, fun, fun place. Not the easiest place to find, it is just off Main street and parking is in the back. We arrived by 10 am on a Saturday and never did it feel too crowded in the 2.5 hours we were there. Admission is $8 per person, which if I lived in CT, I would spend the $100 for a yearly family membership. The rooms, created by hand using wood, are so colorful and hands-on that appeals to ages 2 to probably up to 7 or 8 year olds. A toddler room for those under 2 is in the basement - a nice touch for crawlers and toddlers just starting to walk. We were thrilled at how safe and fun it was for our two year old. She picked up on concepts and had a blast trying out everything. A new large corridor is being prepared for 2014 - can't wait.

The detailed thought and creativity put into this place is very admirable. We followed the advice of another review and went during a weekday when weather was nice, so we had lots of personal space. I could see it getting crowded quickly with all the small spaces.

My five year old son really had a very good time here, especially in The Fishery, which kept him working for at least 45 minutes. The museum is in an old house in downtown Middletown and has a public parking lot behind it. 50% off admission with your ACM reciprocal card. There are some very original paintings and concepts throughout, and some really clever hands-on exhibits.

It's not very big, and so it is very dependent on whether or not a particular room engages your child. I was worried how quickly we made it to the second floor, only to discover a party room (gulp), and a closed off section (uh oh). Fortunately, there is a full-on pretend fish processing plant up there as well, which we all enjoyed participating in.

Yeah, you should totally go if you have a young kid and you are nearby.

This is a great place to spend an afternoon if you have small children. The exhibits are always entertaining and full of discovery for small children. The last time we went one wing of the museum was closed for construction. Once your kid hits 6 or so, they might become bored with some of the exhibits. The price is fair.
