We spent a lovely week with Maisy the dog. Very clean & comfortable. Owners, Ken & Maggie were great. Quiet location surrounded by nature. Lovely views. Located close to great dog friendly beaches and fantastic walks. Will definitely go back.
We stayed in Little Hendra for a week in early September 2014. The property is over two floors and adjoins a larger holiday let to the one side and at right angles to the rear it adjoins another holiday let. Externally there is a small seating area to the front, outside the conservatory, and down a few steps from the parking area. The shared grounds of the properties are lovely and there is a number of small lakes which can be walked around. There is plenty of space around with lots of grass. To the rear is a small enclosed area which has gravel covering, and beyond that a garden for one of the other holiday lets.
Internally the property is very comfortable.
You enter through a conservatory which gets the sun in the afternoon and gets very warm. This space doubles as a dining room with large wooden table and chairs. Beyond this there is an open plan lounge and kitchen. The kitchen is nice, functional and wraps around three sides. It needs a few more essentials for home cooking but basic meals are no problem.
The property has a gas boiler which keeps it lovely and warm and it seems well insulated.
Leading from the lounge is a nice wide flight of stairs, with a gentle rise, which is helpful when having to carry cases.
The top floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The front bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, dresser and two bedside tables. The rear room has twin beds, wardrobe and shared bedside table. Both bedrooms are compact and functional. The bathroom is well designed with plenty of mirrors which are unfortunately too far away for shaving. There is a bath with shower over and a W.C. The bulk of the upper floor is timber boarding with some mats and it is in keeping with the property. The beds we slept in were very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The quilts were nice and warm and there were extra throws and pillows if required.
Most of the timber work has been made by the owner and is very high quality.
There are blinds to all windows if required.
The owner works in the adjacent buildings but this does not affect any of the properties at all. He is most helpful and liked to have a chat.
The property is well off the main road so no traffic noise. Beware of the three speed ramps which caught us out the first time down the track. They are a bit severe, but just OK if taken slowly, but the car did bottom out with 4 people in.
We shall be visiting again in the future.
