“Very Disappointed on July 28”

Rose & Rooster Bakery
Ranked #1 of 1 Restaurants in Seaforth
Price range: $5 - $12
Cuisines: Cafe
Description: Rose + Rooster is a bright, clean cafe in the tiny village of Grand Desert on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. We're only 35 minutes outside of Halifax, on the lovely and scenic Highway 207. Drive past Lawrencetown beach & 10km later you'll find us! We serve breakfast and lunch and an expanded brunch menu on weekends. We source our ingredients locally, work directly with farmers when we can and change our menu seasonally. Come for a visit, we'd love to meet you :)

Was hoping for an oasis but had a terrible experience. Unwelcoming, abrupt, disorganized staff, limited food choices, small portions (croissant and "double" cappucino especially were laughably small). Pricey...turkey sandwich for $8 plus tax...asked for it on baguette, got it on bread. Cappucinos were burned.

Too bad...a nice location, a good cafe would have been great for this area.

There are not too many decent options for decent food and drink along the Marine Drive between Cole Harbour and Musquodoboit Harbour, but the Rose and Rooster is one of two natable exceptions (the other is the McDonald House Tea Room at Lawrencetown Beach).

The coffee selections are all from Nova Scotia roasters, and the baking and cooking are done on site, using local ingredients where possible.

I used to pack lunches before explorations of this shoreline, but no longer. My future excursions will include stopping at the Rose and Rooster. You should make the same plans.
