I was looking for a place to go on a blind date for lunch. I looked up restaurants in trip advisor and found this so I thought it would be a good place. It was Perfect for a blind date. It's a cop hangout. If you want a safe place to go on a first date for breakfast or lunch this is it. If you are wanted by the police you should probably steer clear. lol I ordered the french toast as it was recommended on this site. It was very good. I wish the syrup was REAL maple syrup ad not the processed nasty high fructose corn syrup stuff but at least they gave me REAL butter to put on it. All in all a good meal. Oh, my coffee could've used a refill/warm-up.

“Great Breakfasts!”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We usually have a Sunday breakfast once a month at Huxley's. The staff is very attentive. The food is very good with many specials. Surrounded by books of many topics, it lends itself to a friendly & relaxed atmosphere. And diners get an added treat - real music - a piano man! Huxley's is not a place to miss!!

“Great breakfasts....”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Had many a breakfasts there when visiting the Meriden area. NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. Loud diner atmosphere, but very friendly. Good food, good prices, good portions. Check out the specials when you walk in - usually interesting and tasty.

“Great Local Hangout”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

Huxley's is a landmark in Meriden and even has a picture of Aldous Huxley to sit under. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. It is not a 5 star dining experience, it is a diner. But, it is a great diner. The breakfasts are very good, especially the fretta. For lunch the club sandwiches are awesome. Only open through lunch.
