“Very Nice Hotel”
Reviewed January 16, 2010

Very nice hotel overall, staff is very very friendly Front desk staff is very helpful, the hotel is very clean and smells very nice, elevators are available, plenty of parking and the walls are very well insulated to prevent neighboring room noise. beds are very comfortable, the pillows are a bit soft which i did not care for but i did not loose sleep over it. our room had a king bed with parking lot view and we had a microwave and mini refrigerator in our room. We stayed here for only one night on our way to New York and it met all our expectations =)

The amiable staff went out of their way to be helpful when we were having a crisis that was no fault of theirs. The room was clean and quiet, the bed comfortable, the breakfast satisfying, and the location convenient. We'll definitely stay here again.

I travel regularly for work and stay almost exclusively at Hampton Inns. I rarely have a bad experience. This trip, however, was a fiasco. The Hampton Inn in Meriden is doing MAJOR reconstruction on their first floor (November 2009). All of the lobby furniture is covered up, there is dust everywhere, and the only two vending machines in the entire hotel are on the first floor and unplugged due to the construction. This hotel should not have been open during this period. Additionally, the heat in my room didn't work, and a request to fix it took 12 hours for a response.

We only stayed for one night as we drove back from Boston to New York for our flight back home to England.

Hampton properties can never be called luxurious but we have always found them to be clean and comfortable and this was the case here.

Easy to find just off the main interstate, very comfortable bed, good sized bedroom and a nice breakfast.

The very friendly staff recommended the nearby Lidos restaurant for our evening meal and it was good advice.

If we are ever in this area again we would stop here. We are already planning our fly drive holiday in America for next year and have already booked a Hampton hotel in Wyoming.

My room looked brand new, bed was comfortable, everything seemed clean, WiFi worked (not super high speed, though), breakfast included ham, eggs, and fruit as well as cereal, breads, etc. They have hot beverages in the lobby 24/7. Parking lot was adequately lighted.
Check in was quick and friendly, check out on TV in room. Only one (slow) elevator was working (out of two). At the peak, there aren't enough tables in the breakfast room, and I didn't see any trays (although didn't need one, didn't ask)

Stayed one night as Hilton HHonors platinum. Hotel was clean and tidy, very nice staff. The room renovations are great, especially for business travelers. My one complaint was the mattress. Extremely soft. Could not have slept on it for more than one night. If you need a firm mattress, ask when booking here. I expect some of the rooms have newer bedding. Still, given the overall experience, this was a fine property.

I have stayed here before and enjoyed my stay. Now that the renovations are complete, this is definitely the place to stay if you are in Meriden. The rooms are a little on the small side but they are nicely decorated and have comfy beds and are kept very clean. The bathroom has a granite countertop and plenty of toiletries. The breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold items. The 24 hour coffee/tea service and complimentary newspapers are all nice plusses. The heater/AC unit is a little on the noisy side.
