“Good food but not worth the poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

We have eaten at the restaurant for the last few years every time we visit Foxwoods but this is our last time! Every time we eat here you have to sit in the lounge and wait for a table, even if the place is half empty and you have a reservation.. You are then sitted at a table near the door even if there are plenty of tables and booths, and you have to in sist on a better table. Then, after you are given the menus if you dare ask for the special $65 for 2 menu (available Sun.-Thurs non-holidays and not a bad deal) you are glared at and you will have a long wait while they find the menus. We ordered from it anyway. Also, of course the wine we wanted was not available and the server recommended a wine almost twice the price. The meal, notwithstanding the service, was good, but for the money we will go to David Burke's restaurant from now on. Cedars' staff nedds to treat its patrons better!!!!

“My Fav Place To Eat At Foxwoods”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Been there about 20 times and never have been disappointed..a litle pricey but worth it. The atmosphere is great and you can eat at the bar which is terrific. I have had Prime Rib, Rib Eye, Chicken, Salmon, eef over salad and I have loved them all. They have prefixed dinners as well. We had my daughters 21st birthday dinner there and everybody loved the food. The staff is great. If you are only eating one meal at Foxwoods than make it Ceders if you like great meat or fish.

“Your only as good as your Manager...too bad for Cedars!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

My wife and I visited Foxwoods with another couple just yesterday. Thought we would enjoy a nice meal. We were seated rather quickly where the restaraunt was not very busy. When we sat, we asked the gentleman that poured our water if they had any specials. He was very kind and returned with a special menu of "2 for $65.00". We proceeded to order drinks from our waiter, who again was very nice and easy going. We traded wit and humor. Shortly after, the "Manager" approaches us with a very rude tone and the first thing out of his mouth is..."Where did you get those menus"...as if we stole them. We explained we had asked if there are any specials and were given them. He proceeded to tell us the person pouring the water is not our waiter and we should not have these as he was picking them up off our table. I guess the specials were not available on a holiday. We really didn't care about the specials, we would have ordered off the regular menu as well, however the look, the attitude, and the arrogance of the "Manager" was enough for us to see from Cedars. We found our waiter, made sure he knew it was not him, and cancelled our drink order. We left, had a wonderful meal at David Burke Prime right down the hall. (to TripAdvisor, please take out the name of David Burke Prime if it against the posting rules) The initial hostess placed us at a table close to the kitchen doors. The assistant manger quickly came over and offered to move us to a more comfortable one. The waiter spent more than 5 minutes with us discussing some of the wines and beer they offer, and even opened a bottle for my wife to try to make sure she liked it. He also made the recommendation one of us DID get the special they had where they would get a free dessert with it. Ending up spending over $250 between the 4 of us, had a wonderful evening with an incredible meal! Moral of the story, treat your customers as if they are criminals, they will leave, the restaurant makes no money, neither do your staff. Treat your customers with respect and as if they were friends, and they will spend, return several times, and make sure others do as well.

“2 Meals for $65”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

This was sort of worth it, because we had stayed an extra day and didn't want an expensive meal but did want something nice. I had salmon, my husband had steak. The steak did not seem to be the one on the regular menu, but was tasty. The salmon was good. He had the salad for starter, I had the chowder. The chowder was good, but so filling I didn't have room to finish my salmon. We both had the key lime pie, and neither of us could eat it. I thought it was old, my husband thought it was Costco purchased. In any case, try the cheesecake. We will eat at Cedars again because it is usually good. We probably will ask for the waiter we want (Wayne) since we were disappointed with the one we had, and we will not have the 2 for meal.
