“Good Food - Service Questionable”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

We had tickets to a show at the MGM, so thought we would try Alta Strada. Several of the other restaurants at MGM are steakhouses and very expensive. This looked reasonable, in comparison. I had a salad and the chicken parmigiano, both good. My husband had the Zuppa di Pesce, which was also good. But the service left something to be desired. They were very busy, probably due to the show, but we did have reservations and were seated promptly. However the bus girl who served the water eventually had to come back to take our order, since the waiter who had our table was obviously busy elsewhere. Everything we asked for during the meal was handled by the bus men - our waiter only presented himself to give us the check. There was a manager who we saw asking people on either side of us how was everything, but for some reason he never approached our table. The entire experience was strange to say the least. If we ever go to another show at MGM, we would probably eat at Juniors - the menu is extensive and much less expensive

“Pleased”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

We decided to try somewhere new for our anniversary dinner. We had late reservations on a Tuesday night so it was very quiet inside. The service staff was pleasant and attentive. Our waiter suggested the watermelon salad which was quite enjoyable. Our pasta dishes were delicious and very reasonable portions. Although a little pricey it was enjoyable.
Being in a casino the atmosphere can be a little odd but it was not so offensive that i wouldnt go back.
Overall I would recommend for a nice dining experience.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012 via mobile

We have been to MGM several times and have never been to Alta Strada. Was in the mood for Italian so we thought we would give it a try. The food was amazing. It is smaller then I expected and we ended up sitting at the bar like we usually do. I would suggest reservations. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was pleasant. A little pricey but well worth it. Will definitely be going back.

“Nice atmosphere - average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2012

Alta Strada is a pretty restaurant but the food quality is average at best. Do not get the fried calamari - it had absolutely no flavor and we speculated that it may have been frozen. Entrees (pasta and chicken) were better but don't expect the quality you would get at your favorite local Italian restaurant. I would recommend Shrine for good quality Asian Fusion over this or the more expensive steakhouses.
