Foxwoods is one of the largest casinos in the world (at least by floor space). It's comprised of several different casinos (i.e. Rainmaker, MGM Grand) that are connected to each other, so you have plenty of options where to gamble. If you're a poker player, their poker room is world-class: it's the largest poker room in the East Coast and you'll get all sorts of games and limits there. The crowd is split b/w New York and Boston. There are a few bars and clubs so there is (weekend) nightlife--although they stop serving alcohol at a certain time which ain't cool. You have your standard choices of lodging from the different properties. I usually choose the Two Trees Inn b/c it's the least expensive (although it's a shuttle ride away), and the Bellissimo Grande is another Foxwoods-affiliated option nearby. Just realize that you're in the middle of nowhere out there--there's a reason why it's called "Foxwoods." Could be good if you're into hiking and that sort of stuff b/c some of the views around there are quintessential New England. But it also could be bad b/c if you don't like what you see...civilization is kinda far away. Def worth a visit though.

I am going to Foxwoods about 10 times. It is extremely smokey, So beware if you have breathing issues or just quit smoking. I like to play blackjack but can't afford $25 tables. There are usually only one or two $10 tables if you can get a seat at the table it's a good time the table service is excellent. The restaurants are decent My favorite is the California pizza kitchen.

We recently went to Foxwoods on a bus trip and found the casino to be nice. We were told that it is the world's largest casino, but I think that must be in square footage, because it seemed that there were fewer machines than we have seen at other casinos. There are multiple casino areas under one roof and I'm glad we had on good walking shoes because it takes a while to get from one end to the other. There are a good number of table games and the minimums were kept low. The staff were very nice and the place was kept very clean. There were not a lot of people when we were there (mid week) so even the smoking areas were not too smoky, but I don't know how it would be on a busy weekend. There was a nice selection of shops and restaurants as well. We would probably come back here again.

It's worth it to make an extra 10 minute drive down the road to Mohegan Sun Casino. Foxwoods is a little bit outdated and needs to be cleaned better. You have to walk around lot just to get anywhere and the sites are always the same. The stores are dirty and also need an update. It's a great view when walking to the "newer" side of the casino, but I didn't come here to look outside, I came here to spend my money and enjoy being inside.

filled with non americans . way too smokey. would travel the extra distance to go to Atlantic City
The service was terrible and they are "covered"by the fact that it is on a reservation- don't have to abide by CT laws.
