“Pequot Museum is a wonderful place to check out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2004

I have been Mystic area many times and visited Seaport, Casinos ...etc.

This time I found a greatest place in the area that we did not realize (thanks to entertainment book coupon); it was Pequot Museum about 10 minutes drive away from Mystic Hilton.

It was built only a few years and the location is right next to Foxwoods Casino. The parking lot was free, and there was a complimentary shuttle to the Musuem, so convenient. The building itselt is a comtemporary teepee like building with huge glasses. Just walking around lights you up immediately.

The marvelous view from this unique archtechure and design can be easily seen from 2nd floor cafeteria, having a lunch there get you wonderful feeling.

The showroom were spiraling down from the huge lobby that has a cayatt with each person look like real. The showroom has lots of "real" thing like a real creak, real trees ...etc. It also provide a complimentary self guided handset that explain as much detail as one interested thru button press.

I joined the member immediately before I left the museum. This is 1st class of museum like Mohegan Sun Casino and Foxwoods are 1st class casino that make travel a fun and pleasure.

“great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2001

Don't miss this museum if you're in Eastern Connecticut.
Very handicap accessible, kid friendly.
Plan to spend a few hours even if you're only mildly interested in Native American culture.
There was more to see than we could in 2 hours. Kids very interested (ages 7-12). Interactive with short movies, touch-screen video tours, great static displays, lots of then vs now comparisons and archaeology. The "village" is a must-see. One of a kind.
