Really enjoyed this place, I was surprised at how big it was, and the range of displays and info on offer. Favourite part was the recreated village, which had a great audio tour guide.

This place is cool! I enjoyed the history and all exhibits! The place is huge and has a Lookout tower also! There's one exhibit where you go to each site with headset! Defiantly check the caribou exhibit. There is a snack bar, restaurant ($$) for those who need lunch. Military is free

“Great Experience - and then Lantern Hill”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

For all of the years that we've been going to Foxwoods, we never took time for the museum until this past week and I'm sad it took so long! This museum is a class act all the way around. The specific details, the content of exhibits, the coordination of timelines and the cleanliness make this a real treat! We cannot wait to go, especially since we didn't have the time to get through it all - mainly because we had no idea what an experience it was! The staff was an added bonus as they were very approachable, offered excellent suggestions and were really excited about their jobs.

The exhibits with people are SO LIVE it's almost frightening!! We stood watching them to see if they would move!

If you are staying the night, I suggest you go to the museum one day and the next morning get up and hike Lantern Hill trail. The trail is a moderate hike, but you have the option to make it little difficult and I suggest you do that! We were able to stop and appreciate certain plants and flowers and nature formations better because we saw them at the museum the day before. When you get to the top of the "Hill", the views are great - even if it is overcast.

Planning another trip this month!

“Pequot museum”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Nice to bring the children to learn different arguments on history. The museum does a good job in presenting all aspects via British, Dutch and their arguments. It's a shame most do not know this museum is even open. It should be supported more by the public. Too bad anyone that goes there only knows about the hotels, gambling and shows. This is part of history and needs support.

My family & I were not expecting this museum to "WOW" us, but we were so wrong. The realistic Pequot village was AMAZING!!!!!! This museum was certainly put together with a lot of thought. The displays & life size dioramas are so engaging. The videos & the information provided throughout is put together wonderfully. This is a MUST GO TO museum!!!!!! You will not be disappointed.
