I've been to the Funny Bone several times now with various friends and family. They sometimes have well known (famous) comedians as well as the up and coming ones that haven't made a name for themselves yet.
I've seen great shows there and not so great shows. If it's an unknown comedian it's pot lucky as to if you are going to like that one or not...but that's reasonable. And if you sign up for their website notices you will be sent lots of offers for free tickets. I've used the free tickets a few times and it's a great way to see an unknown comic without endangering your hard earned dough.
The food there has always been good although it is pretty much just pub food....not a ton of variety but certainly good enough. The food and the drinks are on the pricey side. If you get in for free you are still doing ok for an evening out.
The room is small and they do pack you in like 'sardines', but I've found that as the evening goes forward that doesn't seem to really matter. You have room to eat and you have the option to make friends with new people at your table. it's not that bad.
I think the only improvement they could make would be to have a larger venue and lower the food prices a bit. But overall I'm pretty satisfied to have a comedy club available and one that sends out free tickets ain't all bad!
