We have been coming to Allegre's for years. It is classical Italian and consistently top quality and taste. Italian size portions. We have visited several times for New Year's Eve with family and friends and have never been disappointed. The bar is fun and the people at Allegres are friendly.

Had some wonderful meals last nite, four of us could not find anything wrong with Karen N, our wait person or any of the food at this restaurant. We will certainly travel from Norwich, Ct. to Madison again for a treat like this. Very glad our son found this GEM. Paul West, Norwich,Ct.

First thing you'll notice is that the staff are all very friendly. This always makes the food taste just a little better. We often stop in and sit at the bar and order apps, occasionally dinner the food is anywhere from really good to outstanding. Last time I ordered the lobster cream sauce over angel hair pasta (not at all what they call it but you'll see it on the menu). Couldn't finish it but saved the rest for home. It was just as good both places.

Cafe Allegre is one of my most favorite restaurants. The food is always very good and always consistent. We don't always eat it... it is our place for take-out when we want to treat ourselves. This is also the restaurant a yearly Christmas luncheon is held, for almost 15 years now, for a group of us who used to work together. Everyone suggests going here, even those who have a bit of a drive to get there. Love the Tilapia Aqua Pazza and my husband loves the Capelinni Telefono. I don't think you will be disappointed with anything you select. Enjoy!

Have been there a few times for dinner and once hosted a milestone surprise birthday party there. The party was nine years ago and we all still talk about it, it was that memorable! Dinners are consistent and wonderful, service great and well-paced. Yesterday we were there for a family get together (5 adults); sampled quite a variety of plates. In total, 7 alcoholic drinks, 2 appys, 4 soups, 5 entrees, 2 desserts, and coffees all around, for a total of just a little over $50 a head, tip not included. And everyone raved about every dish! The Sunday Sauce is super, if perhaps just a tad on the salty side. Pasta firm and perfect. Appys presented almost too pretty to eat. Knowledgeable adult staff. As I mentioned, the party nine years ago was a complete success. They put us in a lovely garden room and execution was perfect. Guests were very pleased, and guest of honor was absolutely floored. (Guest of Honor has another milestone birthday coming up next year, and I am even thinking about returning for another party!!) I have always found Cafe Allegre to be a great value for the dollar. Even though I feel Italian food made at home is generally better than what you usually get at a restaurant, this place is an exception. Allegre is always memorable! Have a guest you want to impress? Can't go wrong here!
