“So yummy with views and good service”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant which offers in and out dining. The menu selections are a bit different which we like. The attentive service, we were happy to see Kathy again, was great. Looking out over the water is a bonus while enjoying a wonderful dinner, lovely wine selection too, and then terrific breakfast.

“Location, Location, Location Plus Excellent Cuisine”
Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

Inside or on the seaward deck, the Wharf Restaurant at Madison Beach Hotel has a magnificent view of Long Island Sound, unfettered by marina distractions. The service people are friendly, helpful and attentive. Our dinner: three-olive, dry vodka Martini, and Mai Tai drinks were expertly prepared; salads and oyster appetizers were excellent (the sauce was bright and tangy); the fluke and its green beans, herbs, and fingerlings -- excellent; the sailfish steak (firm and moist) and its asparagus, herbs, and wild rice -- excellent. We had coffee and did not have dessert, although the offerings were quite tempting. Our waitress was, in a word, excellent. All in all, a highly satisfactory dining experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant.

“A Relaxed, Comfortable and Delicious Breakfast”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

We stayed at the hotel Friday night and left Saturday morning. I breakfasted alone Saturday and had a memorable experience. Although eggs, bacon, home fries and toast sound ordinary and pedestrian, this meal was exquisite. Three perfect poached eggs, an ample portion of crisp applewood smoked bacon and potatoes came on a single beautifully-presented plate, accompanied by toast, butter and preserves on the side. The server was charming and friendly and made the meal even more enjoyable and memorable. Next time, I'll make sure to sample this restaurant for dinner. In fact, I'm already thinking about when I might make my next overnight visit to this splendid hotel.

“Terrific staff and view. Food secondary but fun”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

A relaxed place that only seems to a problem for the few tense enough they can't relax. The whole experience is the fun of it. Best enjoyed as a hotel guest so you can just mosey on in, in the relaxed kindly atmosphere of the place. Not high cuisine, but great cuisine!

“Nice setting”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Obviously its in a beautiful area, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very cozy, however the chairs were uncomfortable. Waitstaff was nice and attentive. We were pleased that they still honored our 4+ year old gift certificate. Food was delicious especially the tomato bisque and baked stuffed lobster. Only complaint was the lobster in my cioppino tasted processed, not fresh, the clams and muscles were very good but for the price of that dish I would have expected it to be over pasta.
