“Terrific staff and view. Food secondary but fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

A relaxed place that only seems to a problem for the few tense enough they can't relax. The whole experience is the fun of it. Best enjoyed as a hotel guest so you can just mosey on in, in the relaxed kindly atmosphere of the place. Not high cuisine, but great cuisine!

“Nice setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Obviously its in a beautiful area, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very cozy, however the chairs were uncomfortable. Waitstaff was nice and attentive. We were pleased that they still honored our 4+ year old gift certificate. Food was delicious especially the tomato bisque and baked stuffed lobster. Only complaint was the lobster in my cioppino tasted processed, not fresh, the clams and muscles were very good but for the price of that dish I would have expected it to be over pasta.

“A seaside spot to treasure!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Visited on a Friday of Labor Day weekend with family from Charleston who wanted to visit the Ct shoreline. After days of soggy rain the sun finally warmed us with its' beautiful rays. We snagged a table next to the railing overlooking the beach. Just a spectacular experience to soak in the sounds and sights of the water. Seagulls flying and a lovely ocean breeze. This place has the setting as its' biggest asset. The lunch menu offers a fair priced lunch for such a nice spot. Service was ok, however, we were not bothered since the environment just calls for one to sit back and chill out . Mussels were quite tasty with nice crusty toasted bread to soak up the delicious broth. A salad with perfectly cooked salmon quite good. I look forward to returning soon! A quintessential Ct shoreline experience.

“Great View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

The view is amazing. Sit outside and face the water. The setting sun and the view are like being in Hawaii. I have been there twice now with my wife. Both times there were weddings going on. It’s fun to have a cocktail and watch the weddings. The food is excellent. Have not had a bad meal. The service is slow, so make sure you’re settled in for a few hours. Just relax and enjoy.

“Great good but service was horrible.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

A group of 7 went for a birthday dinner. Generally speaking, the food was great. My tuna tartare was amazing but the chicken was dry. The Cioppino was great, but the portion was pretty skimpy concerning the quite high price.

You cannot beat the view but inside was quite crowded. So, while there were a number of waitstaff, it still wasn't enough. When you are paying prices like this, I expect the service to be top-notch. I should not have to wait 20 min before a waiter even comes over to introduce themself & take my drink order. Our waiter had the 2 big parties in the restaurant and a ton of other tables. This made her frequently unavailable; but that was the fault of the host/manager. I shouldn't have to ask to have my water refilled. Someone should be on top of that. I shouldn't have to wait for over 15 min for my starter after everyone else got theirs. And when we relayed our concern to the manager, he never even came over to apologize or to make sure it had been resolved. Overall, I had the dining experience of a low-end high-volume restaurant, not a high-end establishment.
