Description: The Wharf Restaurant is located inside the Madison Beach Hotel overlooking the Long Island Sound. Open year-round, this location is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with a water view and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Enjoy the natural beauty of Long Island Sound while seated in the comfortably elegant dining room or covered porch. The porch is tented and heated in the winter allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the shoreline without being outdoors. Classic New England dishes are prepared with a fresh innovative flair. Chef Sean Carney selection of entrees are not to be missed. A collector's wine list with rare wines from hard to find vintages will please even the most discerning palette. Our full bar menu includes local craft beers, seasonal signature cocktails, and spirits. Come and experience the genuine hospitality that is the foundation of our service!

The food was ok, but a trying to be a little bit too complicated. The best plate we had were the scallops : fresh, prefectly cooked, with a dressing on the side that I didn't use : the scallops were beautiful on their own ! The rest was a little bit disappointing.
Also, the dining room and bar area are extremely noisy : all open space, no intimacy, with loud conversations everywhere. It's a shame because the place itself has a very big "romantic" potential !
The staff was very nice, as nice as in the hotel to wich the restaurant is attached.

For an average couple, if we can classify ourselves, this was a top notch restaurant, mere steps from the ocean.
It is by far the BEST restaurant we've even been too. Now, it's not one of those restaurants with a wait-list that allows all the stuffy-rich to get privilege. But it feels like it AND no Formal wear is required. (:
The menu had just enough choices, largely seafood and fish but steak and chicken make it to the list. I did the pasta primavera and the flavors were superb. My wife did some chicken dish and it was excellent (we shared). The portion size for both were gigantic. Only complaint on food, unless we were ignorant, the chicken was pan fried and we did not notice that on the menu. We would have preferred grilled.
The wait staff is tremendous. Separate individuals to provide water from nice glass decanters, your server, and bus-persons tend to every need. I got up to go the the restroom and my napkin was refolded and placed on the table - nice touch.
The view is wonderful, request an ocean side (east) rather the the north or south sides which both have views but not as nice. If the weather is nice, do the porch, same sides as inside for preference. If you prefer to be inside yet want some nice breeze, ask to be sat next to the doors to the porch, where we sat, you get the sea breeze if it's blowing (:
I did not think it was expensive at all, I'm thinking, 2 alcoholic drinks, an appetizer, and 2 entrees, was something around $75.
Not to be missed for a wonderful view, great food, better service, and NOT a stuffy ambiance (:
We didn't stay at the hotel, but it looks gorgeous!

My wife and I had breakfast at The Wharf this first summer since the hotel was redesigned. We had breafst there for three straight days. The food was good and the prices reasonable. Everyone was so friendly and helpful at the restaurant. Our waiter, Zachary, provided exceptional service. He even was kind and willing to provide us with info about the area-a very personable young man. Pedro was right on the mark with filling our water glasses even before we asked. Eating on the deck was a joy!! Overall all a special experience to start your day!!!!!!!!
