White Memorial is our towns crown jewel!! there are miles of hiking trails, kayak access, fishing spots and a wonderful boardwalk around a huge pond.it is the scene of many town road race events and has a very popular summer cross country series. My grandchildren never tire of nature walks and love the wonderful museum.A meeting room in the lower level hosts many community art events and talks by area experts on a variety of topics. My husband and I walk there as often as we can and there is always something new that catches our attention

LOVED this place. I like to try different areas in the state to walk/hike and this one i heard about through my job at AAA. After reading about it, i decided i'd take the 60 min drive and check it out. It was a good decision. This conservation center is HUGE. There are NUMEROUS trails that you can enjoy and lots to see a long the way. My favorite part of this place, was the boardwalk trail that goes over marsh and water with great views all around you. There is also a nice picnic area where you can have some lunch before or after your hiking. I didnt get a chance to go through the museum, but from what i hear, it's interesting and worth the $6 admission fee. They also have a gift shop where you can buy books, magnets, etc as well as maps of the grounds for a nominal fee. Over all, i thought this place was great and will definitely be returning in the fall.

Very helpful and friendly staff but it's not much of an attraction for visitors from faraway places. Couldn't find much to see here, though it seems quite spacious. Might be suitable for folks who are looking for quiet moments.

What a beautiful park! 4,000 acres strong!! Kid-friendly museum is fantastic. Very nice boardwalk that circles Little Pond, across wetlands, through woods, over the pond and streams. Great place to fly a kite, picnic, hike, kayak, bird-watch, etc.!!!

I have been visiting the White Memorial foundation on and off for over 25 years and appreciate that their recipe for success has not drastically changed over the years. The quiet and solitude nature of the preserve is reason enough for a visit. The wildlife and the large variety of flora and fauna make this a destination worth the trip. If you are looking for a theme park then go to Disney. If you enjoy nature the way is should be, plan a trip to Litchfield and the White Memorial.
