Plenty of hiking trails and open spaces. Great to get some fresh air to spend the day or for a quick walk. Museum on site is educational and fun for kids. Make sure you call to see if they're open, esp. in winter.

“Serenity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

Well known to the locals, the foundation property is littered with trails. It's a good way to spend time walking in the woods. They have been more crowded in recent years, but unless you're on the boardwalk, you probably won't come across too many. Speaking of boardwalk - the foundation could use your donation for continued repair and maintenance. If you use the land, donate a few dollars to support it!

“Wonderful hiking and a great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

We spent a couple of hours hiking on the trails at White Memorial. There are over 35 miles of trails on the property and the hiking is relatively easy. A trail map costs $3 in the gift store. The museum is a little gem - they have packed a great deal into a small area and it is well laid out and informative. Adults pay $6 to tour the museum and it is well worth it.
