The ambiance of the tavern is the only thing they have going for them. The ,menu is very limited and very pricey. It was so dark where we were seated it was difficult to even see what we were eating. When the food arrived it was very disappointing as the portions were very small! My husband's dish which cost more than 30.00 consisted of a small circular piece of fish underneath a pile of minature meatballs, some slimy clams and some green sauce. He did not even finish it as it tasted so bad. Would not go back there it is too bad because we enjoyed going there!!

Charming old tavern with a very good menu and a nice wine list.Try to get a table near the fireplace. They have turned this place around as it did go down hill for a few years. At one time it was one of our favorites and it looks like it will be on our favorite list again.

First and foremost, the food was excellent. It was literally the best pork I have ever had. The waiter was courteous and refilled out water glasses often - much appreciated. The prices were a little high, but probably commensurate with the quality of the dishes. A few dollars less on the food, and I would have said this was excellent. When we were there, the fires were roaring in the hearth, and it had a nice ambiance. When you enter the restaurant, it's directly into the bar, so it's not entirely clear how/who to talk to about getting seated. If the food was a touch less expensive, I'd probably be back much sooner.
