I booked the Spa Package as a christmas present for my husband. The masseuse was fantastic, fabulous & truly one of the best we have ever had!!!!!! The staff for the Inn, the Ellora Spa & Morgan's Restaurant were awesome, very attentive & accomodating & most impressively made us feel special. The Inn was beautifully decorated, the breakfast and breakfast staff were really the best. We live a few towns over, but like trying different places for when we have an overflow of guests at our home we can recommend different places to stay. We will not only reccommend the Interlaken Inn to our friends and guests, we are anxious to return for another relaxing getaway! Thank you.

My husband booked the Romantic Weekend Package for the weekend of Dec. 17 -18. It was a lovely drive up Rte. 22. (the most direct route). If your in a rush forget it because it's a two lane road. But it is scenic. The front desk check in was a pleasure. The man who checked us in was friendly and answered all our questions. He explained the package to us which included dinner at Morgan's, their restaurant. The food was very good and we were entertained by a piano player while we ate. We were upgraded to a suite which was a loft bedroom, living room and kitchen with 1 1/2 bathroom. It was all wicker furniture which felt strange in the winter. But it was very clean and neat. The kitchen was functional but very outdated looking. We received a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room. And an adorable picnic basket filled with goodies for the car ride home. It was very quiet because it was the off season but that is what we were looking for. The nearby town, Millerton, was very cute and went to the tea shop and bookstore. It was a great quick getaway.

We stayed from November 18 - November 20. We walked into a cozy, warm lobby and were greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and pretty. The front desk called to tell us that there were cookies and cider in the lobby. There is a fantastic rec room with a pool table, air hockey, ping pong table, and a big comfy TV area! The buffet breakfast was delicious and there was a cold breakfast alternative if you're not a big eater. We would absolutely stay again!!

Room Tip: I would try to get a 2nd floor, front facing room. We faced the back lawn and we could hear the band...

We have stayed at the Interlaken Inn many times and are always extremely happy customers. The setting on the lake can't be beat, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spacious, accommodating and clean, and best of all, the staff goes out of its way to please you. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with attention to detail, makes Interlaken the ideal spot for vacationing in a wonderful part of the country, in virtually any season. Although Interlaken is certainly on the level of a quality hotel, don't go expecting Caribbean "luxury." (And don't get me wrong, that's good too!) But for this setting, it's better than that; it's just right!

My husband & I enjoyed our first stay at the Interlaken, despite the rainy weather. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and having a shower with no lack of hot water or water pressure! We had a delicious dinner at Morgan's while listening to the music of their wonderful piano player. Since there weren't many patrons in the restaurant, we even got up and danced to our favorite song! It was a romantic evening!
The hotel advertised "complimentary continental breakfast." So the next morning, we were expecting coffee & danish. We were very surprised when we saw the selection of breakfast foods being offered, and sampled just about everything!! Then, we packed our stuff and headed for a day of outdoor fun. We picked apples & pumpkins at Ellsworth's Farm, hiked in Kent Falls State Park, toured the town of Kent, and ate dinner at Smoked Restaurant & BBQ. Driving home on Covered Bridge Road in the dark was an experience I won't forget!! I did however forget half of my belongings at the Inn and only realized it after we were home. I called the Interlaken and was relieved to hear that all of my clothes were found and that arrangements could be made to return them to me. It's nice to know there are honest people working at this establishment!
I would definitely recommend staying at the Interlaken overnight if you want to get an early start on your day enjoying the great outdoors of fall. Although we didn't get to see any vibrant change in the leaves, the scenery was still spectacular!

We recently spent a weekend at the Interlaken Inn with family and were apprehensive after reading the reviews. We had not choice but to go since the reunion we attended was organized by someone else. Our worst fears were confirmed. The rooms are very simple, especially considering the price. They are small and very basic. The hotel is not really set up to accomodate children despite the family reunion package. There is no playground although the inn has lots of space and the "game room" targets adults, not children. There is no changing room near the restaurant. When we asked as the reception we were told "that's why we have hotel rooms." Our hotel room was quite walk way from the restaurant! In addition, it seems that this hotels confirmation email is purposefully vague so that you have no way of proving which room you reserved for which rate and what that rate includes, so be prepared for substantial extra charges at checkout! All in all, it's just another hotel, yet when you get the bill you think you stayed at an exquisite five start resort somewhere, whereas you were just at a roadside hotel! I will never go back there.

Room Tip: Don't go here!

We regret the confusion experienced by this Guest while making her reservation. There are two different types of accomodations in our Townhouse building. One is a duplex suite, and the other is a double-bedded Guestroom. We voluntarily held both a Suite and a Room for this Guest until she decided what would be best for her family. We are surprised to hear now that she really wanted the Suite when in fact she chose the Guestroom. The issue with the billing is that this Guest had more adults in her room than the package allowed; therefore, the two extra adults that stayed in the room and dined with us needed to be charged additionally. The Inn has reached out to this Guest to address her concerns, but has yet to receive a response. The rest of the Family Reunion with which this Guest was a part of had nothing but rave reviews for our property, service, and value. Again, we regret not being given the opportunity to satisfy this guest during her stay.

We just returned from 3 days at the Interlaken Inn in a townhouse room. The room itself was average, the staff is courteous and helpful. The walls seem to be paper thin and we were awakened this morning (Sunday) at 5 am to the sound of children running up and down the stairs in the connecting unit. We were certain they were actually in the same room as us as their voices sounded like they were next to our bed. The parents increased the noise volume by screaming at the kids. We were showered, packed and ready to leave by 7 am, and were not "happy campers". We explained our situation to the front desk and they suggested that we should have called. They did offer to give us breakfast, but we declined as the offending family had preceded us into the restaurant.

We absolutely love children and are not usually cantankerous customers, but we felt someone should have warned us about the possible noise issue in the townhouses. I am writing this review (which I seldom do) to prevent someone else from having a similar experience!

Room Tip: Average Rooms in the main building but avoid the townhouses!

We are presently looking to contact this Guest to offer our sincere apologies. The Townhouse units are wonderful accommodations and it is certainly our shortcoming that allowed a family with young children to be adjacent to a couple here for a relaxing getaway. We are addressing this issue very seriously and are even considering offering the Townhouses as a single unit - a Suite and a connecting room only. The units themselves were built for sale in this fashion, and our goal will be to market them this way in the future.
