“A beautiful setting for racing sports cars of all vintages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

The track at Lime Rock Park is justifiably famous, not simple for beauty, but for its design, which is deceptively simple, but fiendishly difficult to drive fast. The track can be set up in four configurations to suit different racing categories, so when you go, there could be NASCAR stock cars, sports cars, Formula Fords or Vees, midgets...or a Concourse d'Elegance of antique cars. You will see great race car drivers, like those who have made this classic track famous for the last 55 years, like Skip Barber, the present owner, Stirling Moss (who visited for the celebrations this Labor Day), Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Sam Posey, Graham Hill, and many others. Listen to that throbbing exhaust - time to go racing...

“Great, relaxed place to go to the races”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

The lush green hills of northwest Connecticut make this a spectacularly beautiful and relaxed place to watch fast cars. With no grandstands, you get excellent and closeup views of the action sitting on the grassy hillsides (bring a folding chair or a blanket). Despite the bucolic surroundings, you also have an opportunity to wander through the paddocks and get close up to the mechanics working on the cars between races and a chance to see great cars close up. And there is that odor of oil and braking in the air that lets you know real racing is going on.

Midweek there is also the opportunity to take driving and racing courses at Lime Rock through the Skip Barber program. Just a complete blast if you love driving and cars and the opportunity to throw vehicles around (and spin out from time to time) in a safe setting.

“Vintage Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

Attended the Friday event on 8/31/12. It was the first day of the Vintage Race Weekend, so drivers were practicing and qualifying for their starting position for the racing to be held on Sat. and Mon. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere is very relaxed with people bringing their own seating and coolers. Free parking, clean bathrooms and food service (prices are a little high so a picnic lunch would be good for families on a budget.) The pits are open to the public, so you can wander among the cars and visit with the drivers and mechanics. The vintage race cars are wonderful to see with many "one-of-a-kind" models and museum quality machines that the owners are still willing to race.

“Lime Rock Historics and Sir Stirling Moss”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

Lime Rock has always been one o my favorite places to watch a race. The setting can't be beat and the hillside seating still gives it the feel of the golden age of sports car racing. The main attraction for me this year was Sir Stirling Moss being interviewed by Murray Smith for a relatively small group after the races on Saturday. Even without Sir Stirling, this track should not be missed

“A gem for car enthusiasts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2012

Lime Rock Park is a gem for those who enjoy cars and racing. it's a meandering track with no bleachers. People sit on the grass and watch the races in a beautiful country setting. While I'm not a huge enthusiast, I live nearby and enjoy the events they host. My friends, who do love racing, tell me that it's a great track and the different races they host provide something for everyone. They also have a racing school where you can drive like a race driver or bring your teenager to teach them how to drive safely.
