“Delightful splurge for families who ski”
Reviewed January 20, 2011

We just spent a long weekend with our two girls (9 & 11) at Starbuck Inn. We had two rooms next to each other with a connecting hall. The hall also had a door which could be closed and locked as well. So, the girls had their room, we had ours and everyone had a wonderful sleep. The Inn is wonderful - as described by others. It was less than 30minutes to ski at Mohawk Mountain - a great family place, too. Restaurants in Kent were very good.

We stayed at the Starbuck Inn for few days in mid October. Peter was a very gracious host and pointed out the more important things to see in the area and the best restaurants to visit. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was very satisfying and
we enjoyed the afternoon tea and sherry each day after we came back from hiking in the
area. Kent Falls is about 4 miles away, which I would highly recommend, but do it on a clear, sunny day, you will enjoy the views. Fife and Drum restaurant is best show in town, stay for the piano player, quite a story there.

The Starbuck Inn is situated in the delightful village of Kent and is within easy access of the shops and restaurants. The afternoon tea was very welcome upon our arrival and we were made very comfortable by the Innkeeper - Peter Starbuck - who is an excellent host. We would definitely recommend to friends visiting New England.

We loved the Inn and it's grounds. Peter was/is very accomodating and down to earth in relating with the guests. The two breakfasts we had were tastefully prepared and served with the best coffee we've had in a long time. The bed was exceptionally comfortable which met Peter's standard of what a traveler wants....A good meal and a comfortable bed.
A couple of small suggestions would be some additional shelf space for toiletries in the room in which the sink is not in the bathroom and additional lighting in the large living room for people who might want to sit on the sofa or other chairs with a book or newspaper. I already miss my 4 o'clock brandy with olives and cheese snacks.

After he settled us into the “Robert Burns” room, and strolled through the pleasant town of Kent, we enjoyed our host Peter’s afternoon tea on the back patio. His offerings included green tea, coffee, sherry, and a variety of savory and sweet treats. The late afternoon sun filtered lightly through large old trees around the patio, and set a glow to the spacious lawn and rolling woodlands beyond that. It was all so peaceful. The home felt elegantly appointed, smoothly managed, and soothingly comfortable. We arrived on a Tuesday, when many local shops and restaurants were closed, but there were still several good dining options only a short walk away (and, quite a few more if we’d preferred a drive). Peter provided very helpful advice for all our needs that evening. When turning in for the night, we found the beds, soft linens, pillows and comforter all to be deliciously cozy. In the morning, our breakfast was very tasty… a highlight for me was the wonderful jam made by a local friend of Peter’s. We had a lovely time and would be very happy to return.

I was excited to stay at the Starbuck Inn, when I visited The Kent School. Peter was very kind and hospitable. The Inn is nicely appointed, and opens to a beautiful backyard with a nice view of a mountain behind it. The afternoon tea was a nice touch. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, featuring fresh hot blueberry pancakes. My Stay here did not disappoint. I wish that I could visit this area more, so that I could stay again.
