Four of us dined at Giffords last night. None of us had been there before and we're celebrating my birthday.
The décor is well done, the rooms comfortable. The staff was excellent . The food was terrific. One small problem arose and it was quickly and perfectly taken care of.
Yes, it is on the high end in price, but worth every penny. We all loved the restaurant and will definitely be back.

Giffords took over the space of another favorite restaurant of ours so we were eager to check out the new owners and new establishment. Gifford's, the restaurant came with great expectations since they have been a favorite local catering and gourmet shop for several years now. The new restaurant is absolutely terrific. Exactly what we expected - professional, friendly service, delicious local food presented beautifully. The menu is seasonal so this weekend ( in November) they were serving venison, pork, risottos, pumpkin soup, roasted beet and arugula salad, etc. My husband and I ordered the steak frites which were perfection! Our friends had the crab cakes and short rib orichette. They raved about them! We will definitely be back - many, many times...

Very much the most formal dining in Kent, recommended by our innkeeper as a special occasion place. We went on our last night in town, and it was pretty quiet. The team here was very attentive to us, and gave great service throughout the night. The portions were extremely generous, with about a half chicken in one dish and a pork chop of a good half pound in another. In general, the food was ok, but wasn't what we might expect from upper level dining. The pork chop was on the dry side, and the collection of flavors in each of the dishes felt a little forced - the pork chop, for example, had almost a complete Asian pair and a mix of spices, which were all good, but together seemed a bit much. Overall, was a nice evening, and most likely will return on a future visit to Kent.

Nice menu, right in town center, eat inside or sit under umbrellas. Great sandwiches, salads and baked goods

We went back to Kent, Ct hoping to enjoy Doc's Trattoria for dinner. We found it had turned over to Gifford's. A little saddened, we decided to try it. The menu was not what we usually like but we found some items to satisfy us. The food was wonderful! They have a great selection of wine and beer as well. Rosemary the bartender was fabulous..we loved her! A little pricey but nothing we weren't used to in NYC.
