“Stay away from the turkey burgers”
Reviewed August 3, 2012 via mobile

We ate lunch here today, a Friday afternoon, while the sidewalk side was going on. The restaurant was packed and service very, very slow. The portions were large. I ordered the turkey burger and was very disapppunted; it looked and tastes nothing like it should have.

“Expected better”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Nice local place in a quaint little village. Nice outdoor seating. However, the service was pretty poor. As soon as we were seated, our server came to the table. I told her the others in the party had gone to use the restroom. She said she would be back. She never came back! I had to hunt down another waitress to come and take our orders. We were served coffee, then the food, then we never saw the waitress again! We were looking for coffee refills, but could not get service. Then we had to hunt down the waitress to get our check so we could go! The food was average. NOt what we expected.

“Best Ever!”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

From outdoor seating to the best breakfasts within many miles, the owners of the Villager have done a fabulous job. What ever you do: find out when they're serving authentic Mexican cuisine and run, don't walk there! We get precious little of the real thing way up here, and we take advantage of it whenever possible.

“Tasty Food But Crowded Noisy Place”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

The Villager Restaurant in Kent is right on Main Street and offers both breakfast and lunch meals. The owners are Mexican and make good down to earth food at reasonable prices. But the place was very crowded and the service was slow. Our food arrived as ordered, but we waited about 25 minutes for it to arrive. Get there before lunch time if you want a more hassle free eating experience.

“very disappointed; poor food”
Reviewed November 18, 2011

we were so excited to go to the Villager. it looked like a place we would love - no frills village restaurant that had been there for years. we couldn't have been more disappointed in both the service and food. perhaps it was an off day. i first marked 2 circles for poor but changed it to average but it wasn't really as good as Average. i loved the atmosphere and wanted to love the place.

the staff member who served us was indifferent at best, and clearly uninterested in our business. the food was really poor as far as quality. the "nachos" were a few store bought (or less) quality tortillas with a bit of poor quality cheese somewhat melted on top - nothing else. no peppers, nothing. maybe cheese quiz but cheese whiz melted usually tastes better. corned beef and pastrami reubens were both a bit tasteless and a bit soggy. fries limp. the regular BLT we had was so ordinary. the wheat bread used was definitely not real whole wheat and tasted like the cheapest loaf you can find at a grocery. and tiny amount of bacon. of course the tomatoes are tired this time of year, and the iceberg was not crisp. how hard is it to get a good BLT?

we'll try The villages again as a family member lives close by, but hope it improves. perhaps it is the menu - they offer way too many things to be good at them all. but how hard is it to make bad nachos and BLTs?
