I had the sea bass which is not on the menu but must be asked for and the wife had the primavera pasta. There was much more than we could finish so we both took home leftovers. The food was great but the place is not much to look at.

We tried out Primavera on a Saturday evening after hearing a couple of reports from acquaintances. It's inconspicuous in a tiny commercial space and nearly drove by although our GPS told us we'd arrived. Inside, the dining area is sparse and small. Menu choices were somewhat limited but the selections were satisfactory to our party of four. I had the coelho (rabbit) which was excellent (and better than my Portuguese mother-in-laws dish, I always thoroughly enjoyed her preparation). Accompanied by roast potatoes and broccoli rabe, I thought I was eating at avo's kitchen. Himself had a grilled whole fish which was a disappointment - it was a lot of work to extract the flesh from the bones and it wasn't that flavorful. Portions were (typically Portuguese) generous and prices were extremely reasonable. Our table shared a carafe of house red wine (that's all they had) which was good and went well with our dinners (rabbit, fish, clams and chicken). Luckily we were 'early birds' because as we were finishing up, several large parties arrived and the restaurant filled up. We'll try this again sometime in the future but it's not our 'go to' spot when we're hankering for Portuguese cuisine

5PM on a Friday and the place is practically empty. No problem finding a table. We haven't been here in a while and forgot how wonderful the good was. Basic Portuguese fair I had sea bass, not on the men's so you have to ask, and pasta primavera. The price was extremely reasonable. The sea bass came with 6 shrimps, 3 clams and a small bit sufficient amount of sea bass. The first clam was tender but the other two were tough. The pasta tasted great and was probably homemade.

By the time we left at 6:00 PM there were no empty tables left. The place doesn't look like much from the outside and inside there is a long bar.

This was my first visit to this pub. I have driven by it many times but had never stopped by. A friend of ours highly recommended it for Portuguese food so we stopped by for lunch. The price for two of us was a bit less than $30. The portions were very large and tasty. The Primavera omelet probably used 4 eggs and the meat and vegetable combination made it a real treat. The tilapia with mussels was similarly very good. Our house salads were fresh. We had no dessert.

The service was friendly and helpful. This place is not fancy and really is a pub in the original meaning of the word. Parking seemed tight but there is plenty on the side and in the back of the building. Some spaces in front of the pub are reserved for the package store next door.

Thus was a good treat for us. We will return.

Don't come to this place if you're interested in romantic ambiance, or quiet and dignified dining. It ain't gonna happen here! But if you want some really authentic Portuguese food, served in abundant portions and very reasonable prices, then this is the spot for you.
We showed up at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. Parking was pretty limited, all the seats were filled and there was a line waiting to be seated. I was ready to leave and find somewhere else for dinner. That would have been a mistake! It took about a half an hour for us to get a table. I was pretty annoyed that a group of young men who had finished their meal before we arrived took so long to pay up and leave. This isn't the kind of place that can afford long after dinner conversations.
At any rate, we were seated and served promptly, and the food was just wonderful. No appetizers are necessary because the entrée portions are so ample. Our group had shrimp in wine sauce, a boiled bacalau, and the seafood mixed grill. All were delicious! The fish was so tasty, the calamari melt in your mouth tender, the shrimp with the wine sauce were devoured and every bit of bread was used to mop up the accompanying sauces. We had a carafe of a very drinkable house wine. Total of the bill? $77! When have four people been able to dine out for such a price?
As stated before, there is NO ambiance. The décor is non-existent, the tables are set with paper place mats, there is nothing to make you want to linger and chat. But the food makes it all worth it and the wait staff (though way overworked) is pleasant and competent. All in all, this place is a keeper. Next time though we won't show up at 6 on a Saturday night!
