My sister and I were looking for authentic Italian homemade food....we definitely found it. We were in town for a quick trip from Florida and before getting back to the airport we stumbled into this place. They by far exceeded our expectations. Our server Koula was prompt, polite and the restaurant was clean. We ordered fried mozzarella, chicken pastina soup and Chicken Parmesan with a side of pasta. We split everything (it was a TON of food) and had leftovers. I was so tempted to bring it on the airplane. Absolutely delicious! Next time we are in town we will be back.

Visiting Hartford, CT for golf show and had to come back to this restaurant, simply outstanding, can't miss Italian place...It's very small but very nice place. Service is great, but all meals are cooked as ordered and it does take a little while for your food, but it's certainly worth the wait.. Priced right and can't miss location!

My family visits Ficara’s every October for my mother’s birthday. The place never changes, and that is one of its charms. Chef Sebby and his wife always put together a terrific meal and great service.

We had a 5:45 reservation and we were the only table seated at the time. The restaurant started filling in more around 6:30. We were able to find parking right outside the restaurant and there is a small parking lot behind the restaurant as well. We started with some espresso martinis and a bottle of Italian wine, and we enjoyed both.

For the appetizers, we had the fritto misto, clams casino, eggplant rollatini, and mozzarella in carrozza. There were no complaints and barely any leftovers. The bread was also outstanding and included heated Italian bread with butter, or garlic bread.

The salads were next, and it was a very healthy portion per person. The pasta was served family style, but we barely touched it, as we were full from our appetizers and choose to dig into our entrees.

Between all for us, we had the chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, baked stuffed shrimp, veal Sebby, veal parmigiana, and tortellini a la Romana. Each was delicious and we all had leftovers to take home.

Ficara’s does have a dessert menu, but we did not even glance at it. We were just too full, and had enough leftovers for the next day’s lunch and dinner.

The prices are also very reasonable and this place is highly recommended.

Delicious food and if you come during lunch you receive the same portions as dinner for a much smaller place.

We grew up in Hartford, a did our friends who joined us on a Saturday night. Our server, Sandy, was incredibly helpful, and made sure we had a wonderful dining experience. Three of us had the Veal and Eggplant Parma Combo , and our fourth, the Chicken and Asparagus. The meals were superb, with the veal and eggplant being thinly sliced. We were too full to have desert, but enjoyed the coffee and wonderful dining experience. Plus the prices are reasonable. We will be back!
