“Good pre-game pub meal”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

On a UCONN game night I arrived about 5 PM and got a table without a wait. It gets very packed and noisy closer to game time (7 PM). The meatloaf dinner was very good, generous portions with broccoli, mashed potatoes and baby carrots. For some reason there were short bar stools rather than chairs with backs at some tables and this should be corrected.

Great for lunch or dinner. The staff is always friendly. Had my birthday there. We took up the second floor of the restaurant. It was great.

“One of the Best Restaurants in Hartford, CT”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Vaughn's is located on Pratt Street in Hartford, CT and an easy walk from anywhere in downtown. Working in Hartford, I have had the pleasure of eating lunch at this restaurant many times and it continues to be one of my favorites.

On a recent business luncheon, I ordered my favorite item on the menu, the Roast Beef Sandwich. After hearing my rave reviews, my business associate ordered the same thing and we both raved about how excellent the meal was. Service was excellent and the waiter was very pleasant and explained the specials and options available from the menu. Everything on the menu is consistenly excellent and it is fair to say that my coworkers would vote this their favorite restaurant in Hartford as well.

“Open Sunday Afternoon ... In Hartford”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

A year-or-so ago, I had a lot of work-related trips to Hartford that had me in downtown Hartford, on Sundays -- Not Much To Do. Vaughn's is open on Sundays early enough to watch an afternoon game ... but late enough not to offend the Episcopalians ;-).

Really Cool Place. Awesome Burgers. Beer. TV. Attentive Bartender. Walk Back to the Hotel.

What more can you ask for on a Sunday away from home?

“Nice Irish Pub with Great Beers”
Reviewed June 30, 2012 via mobile

Always a nice environment though sometimes crazy crowded. Recent hot Friday night before Roger Water's The Wall was wild. Johnny Vaughan was there working the floor and clearing tables and helping all customers. Guinness was great. Shepherds pie was good, Farmhouse salad excellent and several sandwiches very filling. Always a fun place. We will continue to return.
