“Fresh Ingredients and interesting recipes”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

The menu is very creative. Combinations that you might not think of seem to work very well. Local ingredients are their signature, but they seem to be reaching farther afield these days.

“Interesting, eclectic choices”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

We've been here twice, and each time had a very nice meal. I found it a little dark in there, but the inside decor (a former fire station) is quite interesting.

“Good sandwiches, urban loc off the beaten path”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Place it a stretch to get to from downtown, but felt good to patronize a place outside of city central. Club sandwich was good but not remarkable. No complaints frOm my party.

“Farm Fresh Delicious Food”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

The Hartford Area is desparately in need of more fine restaurants. Our search was successful last night when we selected this fine establishment.
My wife & I both selected the special featured "Taste of Hartford" fixed priced 3 course (2 selections each) menu all for $22.00. I had the Gazpacho soup - a chilled wonder with the right blend of tanginess and fresh vegetables. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the breaded eggplant served over a sliced tomato. For the entree, she had the grilled salmon on served over grilled romaine , fennel, roasted peppers and summer squash - a great combination and quite unique with the romaine. My main course was a roasted corn risotto cooked to perfect texture. Desert was a rich chocolate tort like cake served with a small dash of whip cream and I think caramel / peanut butter topping . Only slight issue was the long time between courses.

The left side of the menu - the regular entrees also looked appealing and will need to be sampled the next time we go - and there will be a next time as they also have Bluegrass music every Sunday.

“Everything unique here. That is, the setting and the food. Recommended”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Great attempt to present seasonal offerings. Food, service, and ambiance are matched by presentations as they arrive from the kitchen. Hard to find if you'e not a native. But worth the effort
