Been before and it's always been good. We ordered 3 burgers and a club sandwich. All were good. The burgers and fries were piping hot!! It was a very quiet night ( we were there at 7pm and out by 8:45pm) which was great for us. Allowed for a quiet relaxing casual dinner with friends. FREE parking on the street or behind the restaurant. I will be back.

Hook and Ladder

Nice looking pub
Clean
Limited Menu
Disappointing Menu
Pulled Pork was like mush
Chicken Wings were dry

When we entered I asked if they had hotdogs. The waitress said yes. When we sat in the bar we found out that they do not have hotdogs and by then it was too late to leave since we were under time constraints.

Great piped in jazz.

My family tried this for the first time and enjoyed it. If I had younger children, they probably would have appreciated the firehouse decor. The food was good - seemed a pretty typical menu of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, fries, onion rings, etc. They had their own barbecue items, but I didn't try them out. The service was good. They seemed a little frazzled that night - not sure if they had a staff shortage - but they were attentive and generally prompt (it took awhile for the hostess to seat us). The ample free parking in the back wasn't the easiest to find, but that was a real plus for downtown Hartford.
It is very close to the Bushnell, and I think we will try this again when we are seeing a show.

Saw a deal on livingsocial so decided to give this place a try.

Thanks to a tip I saw on Yelp we looked for the parking lot around the back. If it wasn't for the tip we would've missed the lot. There was lots of parking in the back which was great.

We entered the restaurant and it was pretty nice. Lots of exposed brick. Looked clean and decorated with lots of fire house memorabilia.

The waitress came over quickly and offered us our choice of seats in the bar area vs. restaurant. We chose a booth in the restaurant.

We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer with the pulled pork Nachoes and Black and blur burger as entrees. The pickles were verryyyy greasy. The burger was good, but came with Gorgonzola instead of blue cheese as it said in the menu. The Nachoes were very good! Nice and Cheesy and the pulled pork was tasty with a hint of sweetness.

Our server kept checking on us which was a plus.

All in all a decent meal.

Meet our daughter and granddaughter there after an event in Hartford. Plenty of free parking in back of establishment and were given perfect directions when we called for reservation. Nachos with chili had some bite and a good start. Two of us ordered a full rack of St. Louis ribs which were uneven in quality. A few were partially burned, a few were not tender but more were very good. The House Cheeseburger and child's Mac and Cheese were rated as excellent. Also the Mac and Cheese sides made great leftovers. Six beers on tap. Three pedestrian choices and three excellent craft beers. Service was super and prices were reasonable. Child menu includes chocolate milk and ice cream which met with approval from our granddaughter. Would have given the food a 3.5, but not an option. Upgraded to 4 as everything else was a 4 or higher.
