“Got better since it first opened”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

I first went shortly after it opened and it was a bit sparse on exhibits; however, my recent trip back was much better. They definitely have more exhibits now! There is a water area on the first floor, so it may be worth packing some extra clothes for young kids.

“A Fun time For All!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

The Connecticut Science Center has it all: fun exhibits, excellent staff, kids' activities, a movie theatre, vending machines, and a food court. We all had a great time. The video we saw, Tornado Alley, was fascinating. Have fun!

“You Don't Have To Be A Kid to Love It”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

We live just 20 minutes away, but this was our first visit and now we'll return often. We were attracted by the temporary Bodies Revealed exhibit, which we loved, but the rest of the museum exhibits were terrific, and all of the interactive activities worked. We also enjoyed the 3-D movie about the fascinating monarch butterflies. Young children seemed to be having a great time, too.

My husband tires walking around museums so we didn't see everything and knew we'd return. By applying our entrance fees to the cost of tax-deductible annual memberships for each of us, we got a great deal, including a senior discount. Now we can return at no cost, pay $5 for parking, and get discounts on movies, the gift shop and café. We can also visit the Mystic Aquarium during March at no cost. And if one of us stays home, the other can bring a friend at no cost.

The building itself is beautiful, with a light-filled, airy lobby and a wonderful high view of the Connecticut River and its surroundings.

The café is closed for renovations until mid-February.

You can hang your coat in an unattended area or safeguard your things in a locker.

TIP: School groups tend to leave around 2pm.

“Stopped in for the Gift Shop and looked at everything”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

Was in town on business and stopped in to see if there might be something "cute" to bring back to kids after business trip. The building is architecturally interesting and I actually went in to see the whole thing. Will come back with kids in the summer maybe.
