Was in town on business and stopped in to see if there might be something "cute" to bring back to kids after business trip. The building is architecturally interesting and I actually went in to see the whole thing. Will come back with kids in the summer maybe.

An excellent "hands-on" museum for children of a wide range of ages that will also appeal to their parents and grandparents. Everyone enjoyed the varied activities and scientific "games".

There seem to be plenty of interactive exhibits here to keep kids entertained. We went to see the Bodies Revealed exhibit, which did not seem as large as the one we saw in Boston some years ago. We visited the exhibits on each level and thought the Exploring Space section was the most interesting. But that is from the adult perspective...kids seemed to be having fun at all the exhibits.

Kids loved it (ages 5 & 6). The first floor has a water area that can occupy the little ones all day. Every floor has interactive experiences for the kids. Parking is expensive, especially if you aren't used to parking in hartford. It was $8 for us and we were there for around 2-3 hrs. The cafe is expensive too, we paid $28 for a snack type lunch (slice of cheese pizza, pb&j, a pudding, a jello, 2 milks and a soda). If we had known that beforehand we would have packed a lunch or planned to eat elsewhere. Otherwise, a really great place to spend the day.

Really bright modern and fun museum.
The kids love playing with everything and everything is meticulously maintained.
The elevator alone is fun!
The 'splash/H2O' room is by far their favorite exhibit -
but they also love the theater. Lots of floors and lots of great exhibits.
Plan on spending several hours and if you plan on visiting more than twice, a membership is a bargain. Nice little cafe with healthy choices, and a decent gift shop.
