If you spend a lot if time on the road, this is a great place to unwind. I had their penne bolognese and completely finished the plate! Many very good wines by the glass, perfect for solo dining

Went for summer taste of hartford 2014. Had arugula salad, lobster mac and cheese and berries/zabaglione. Outstanding. Will definitely be back.

We found Vivo through Taste of Hartford and will be back. Everything was well prepared and a few items were a bit unusual.

Both of us started off with deepfried brussels sprouts with a sriracha aioli dipping sauce. Sweet and delicious with a spicy touch from the sauce.

I enjoyed seascallops dusted with portobello powder, over polenta. My wife had the hangar steak over garlic mashed. Both delicious.

Dessert was bread pudding for her and drunken berries with zabaglione for me. Outstanding.

Service from start to finish was excellent and the ambiance was just short of elegant.

Wine was a tiny bit pricey and the bread was served unheated as the only shortcomings.

We just had breakfast at Vivo at the Marriott in downtown Hartford. A totally self-indulgent experience! Courteous valet parking, upscale, contemporary ambiance, delightful waitstaff and excellent food. And a sidewalk view of Columbus Blvd. looking like a quiet street in Manhattan. It doesn't get any better than this! We didn't want to leave, and stayed 3 hours, with our waitstaff graciously offering fresh coffee and water refills.

We loved our made to order omelettes -- mine had goat cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach -- delicious!! Vivo is the only restaurant I've found in the Hartford area that has croissants!!!! Plus the freshest strawberries, blueberries, watermelon and pineapple. Spoil yourself! You only live once, right?

we ate at the hotel several nights in a row - attending a conference, and after long days, it was nice to be able to just have a meal and and catch the elevator up to the room.
breakfasts were very good - all the ones we tried were delivered hot, and tasted very good.
dinners were mostly very good. we had a variety of different items - sandwiches were excellent. the only meal that was a slight disappointment was the fish and chips. heavy, and fairly greasy batter - and the fish did not taste as fresh as you'd expect.
other than that, service was great, and price was in line with what you'd expect.
