World class art on an approachable scale. Current exhibit - Medieval to Monet is all their own art, an incredible collection, arranged and displayed very well. See it!

“Wadsworth Atheneum always a winner.”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

The Wadsworth Atheneum is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. Roam around and enjoy the many different artists. I am a fan of the renaissance period and love the work on display.

“WHAT A GREAT MUSEUM!!!”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

From the historical building to the really nice gift shop inside and the collections - a lot to do and see on a cold fall day (or any time of year).

“The grande dame of Hartford”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

If you love Hudson River artists' paintings, you can't miss this museum. And at holiday time, the Christmas decorations are just great. From time to time, they have terrific but small traveling exhibits worth the visit. The big problem is parking -- make sure you know what garage you can go on or you will be paying NYC prices to park.

“Huge museum!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

This museum was huge!!! My uncle told me to go check it out. When I went we were able to park on the side of the road and pay the meter. The museum is so large that we had to go outside after 2 hours and put more money in the parking meter, but it was worth it. They have modern art, older art, and exhibits. It was a good time. It was my first time ever going to an art museum.
