It was so awesome. Me with other 15 friend from Jakarta were here on last Friday 11 October 2013. It spent 12 hours by Damri bus (it cost Rp 150k to Bandar Lampung include Ferry), 3 hours from Gambir to Merak, 3 hours across the sea from Merak to Bakaheuni, 2 hours from Bakaheuni to Bandar lampung. Arrived Bandar Lampung we changed transportation using rent car (it cost Rp 400k/car) and spent 6 hours to Teluk Kiluan. But it was not arrived yet until we changed transportation again using Jukung (local boat made by whole wood from tree and 2 piece of bamboo) to the Pondok Anak Abah camp site. Finally we arrived there at 3 pm.

Day 1
After had lunch, guide asked us to go to Kelapa Island, it only takes 10 minutes, we swam and took pictures of the beautiful scenery there. If it was not because the weather, this place surely heaven. We came there at rainy season, so it was not good enough to see clear sky or sunset, also the high tide brought all the garbage to the beach. So bad.

If you want to look for entertainment, this place is not for people with that purpose. It is a bay with camp site, not 5 stars hotel. Do not expect the hospitality but the food was sooooooo great. They do not have the karaoke room and this place has no signal also, both for mobile phone or internet. But if you kind of limited budget traveler with a backpack who looking for a peace and adventure. Yes you are on the right path.

Day 2
I woke up at 8 am, i was too late too woke up, but my eyes could not open because of the beautiful sound of the wave accompanied me to dream. A guide woke me up and asked us to haunt the great sightseeing of dancing dolphin. Before breakfast we haunted the dancing dolphin, eventho they were hard to find. But it paid off because we saw lot of dolphin jumping and dancing in a pair or group. Awesome.

At 11 am we went to laguna, WOW we had to hike to get there, sadly i was just wear flip flop, not the proper one to hike. Hike the mountain and down the hill through coral rock just with flip-flop and sometime naked feet just because it so slippery, it was not wise. But again and again it paid off with the relaxing lagoon, it felt like i was the only person who owned that lagoon.
Bad news was, we had to walk the coral, hiked and down the hill to reach the first place.

At 2 pm we changed place to Pasir Hitam, that was an awesome moment, imagine you take a motor trail to climb rapid mount, yes i did that. It was so scary yet exciteful until we found the beach was not good, too many garbage there.

Day 3
Actually we had to go home, but i woke up early just for swam around the beach i stayed overnight. So relaxing. So beautiful.

The cost we spent was around Rp 971k but it totally paid off, beyond paid off if we were not came there in rainy season.

Indeed, the term 'hidden paradise' fits Kiluan Bay perfectly....

Before you can enjoy the beauty of Kiluan Bay, with its turquoise water, white sandy beaches, lovely corals and colorful underwater world, and of course, the dolphins... get yourself a thrilling road adventure...

We spend almost 4 hours on the road, with the last 32 kms of bumpy roads :D. Nevertheless, the views along the way is a trade-off...trails of white sandy beaches, green paddy fields, smiley friendly faces... Along the way, you will see many beautiful beaches...Queen Artha, Klara, Mutun Beaches are to name a view.

We stayed in a private bamboo cottage, with one bed-room, one 'living room', with one simple and clean bathroom in front. It had a small balcony, with its own ' jukung jetty' . Homey and clean, and for sure it's quite spacious for the 4 of us But no pantry here...

While in Kiluan, we fully enjoyed its beautiful clean and sandy beaches, either in the Bay or the island...just magnificent

We also watched dolphins in open wild sea, hopping on the jukung at 6 am to meet these beautiful creatures .....and we also snorkeled in one of the corners of the bay…Lovely…
we just enjoy every second of it..

So, don’t miss it…as great adventure awaits you in Kiluan..

*************A small village, next to a small bay and small island but next to a huge number of dolphins.**************
- ± 80 kms / 3 hours South west driving from Bandar Lampung via Padang Cermin - Punduh Pidada - Bawang Village - Kiluan Negeri.
a small island named Pulau Kelapa or some people also called Pulau Kiluan has beautiful sandy beach while on the side is a perfect to see sunset.

What to do : - Take Dolphin tour - Island hopping - Snorkelling- Photo hunting - Fishing - Sightseeing.
Dolphin tour is up on request. however because tour start at 6 am, visitor should be ready in early morning and therefore take overnight before. a small boat / jukung will serve only 3 pax on one boat.
- Simple lodges & accomodation are available within the coastal area. Wisma Dhio, Pondok Ekowista, Pondok Anak Abah, Lamban Sai Batin, Pondok Maimun, and Kelapa Island.
unfortunately restaurant nearby is not yet available. bring your own food or make an order to lodge operator.
check the availabiltiy of accommodation room and book before overnight visit.
it is amazing ...... race with dolphins by boat to tens and even hundreds of them ..
protect your electronic devices.... splashing water may damage it

An awesome travelling in July 20th 2012, with many friends about 25 person, we start travelling from jakarta with 4 cars. the trip takes time about 15 hours, in port of merak we cross the teluk sunda to bakauheni port of lampung.
Teluk kiluan we called, in area of padang cermin. that government take this place for private marine squad training. the place was isolated from out side world, you can't find any entertainment pub or something that reflected big city :) .
Dolphin, this fish found in here in many group even thousand dolphin.....by jungkung boat you sailing about half hour to hindian ocean than you can find them, it's amazing you can look what they do and what they eat, forget about dolphin in a big aquarium, they are in a real nature sea.
Only few people know about this place, even professional backpackers don't know about this place, because the people of kiluan doesn't attract for commercialing the place, they choose life with natural ecosystem they had.

Keep green and traveling lot :)
