“A great choice in Hamden!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We have been to Ibiza several times and it never disappoints. The selection of tapas is excellent and the service is welcoming. They do their best to accommodate any request. Keep in mind that they do not take reservations.

“Cool tapas bar”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

The food is excellent, the desserts divine--the homemade lemon ice cream that accompanied the bread pudding would have been fine on its own, the bread pudding too, but together it was killer!

“How could it happen in Hamden”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

But it did--an excellent Tapas and Wine Bar in the veritable no man's land of
Dixwell Ave. Italian abounds in the area, but trust me, this is above par for any city.
Small plates of smartly seasoned combos of things you wouldn't have at home,
from octopus on pureed potato, to oxtail sliders, to beet carpaccio on avocado toasts.
Order 3 or 4 each and share the discoveries. Best of all, they adapt to diet restrictions like
mine (vinegar, wine, dairy) with delight of adapting.

“odd little place”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

We had a great time, due to the company we were with.
We wanted to retain a menu, in case we cared to order more. Not being there prior, we were not sure of what to expect in portion size, or if we were sharing each dish. They must be short on menus, certain menu items, and wine glasses. We ordered a bottle to split, within split seconds after one of us finished our wine, the glass . was removed. Same thing happened with bottle number two. One guest ordered the avacado dish, we were told they were out. Our other waiter took our additional order, I order the avacado dish, just to see what happened, They had it. We asked what happened within the that short of span. They said they sent someone out....doubtful.
We felt very rushed, and they were not that busy, and it was not late, and no one appeared to be waiting. The food I had was wonderful, Sea Bass, and Salmon(both separate orders) neither sharing size, in fact, nothing but the bottle of wine was of sharing worthy...
If your acrobatic you may fit in the ladies room, if your handicap, or in a wheelchair, you may not. I do NOT think this is legal.
This place has hopes, if they enlarge the restrooms, buy more wine glasses, and menu's and verse the staff if what is actually not available. I don't recommend sharing unless you use a teeny tiny fork.

“If you have to eat in Hamden, try tapas”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Our bar was set pretty low... but we were pleasantly surprised - in Hamden for a kids' hockey tournament with 45 mins before the game, we ended up coming in for a quick, early dinner. The food was surprisingly good - the large tapas bomba rice mushrooms and truffle oil (very close to italian risotto dish) was really delicious. Crispi ravioli was good, but not spectacular and the special shrimp in spicy sauce was also delicious. They were out of several of our first choices, but the menu is large so there were plenty of choices to substitute from. The service was friendly, we set at the bar and were the only people there, so cannot be sure what it might be like when it's busy. One note: don't be put off by the average look of the building, inside is a very cute restaurant. And after I get over how revolting the local hockey team and coach were behaving, I might even come back to Hamden for a surprisingly good tapas meal.
